PJ I rob gas stations and small grocery stores with the random liquor store every now and then. I like to hit the liquor stores late Friday night or Saturday night before they make the bank deposit from big weekend sales. Where is this Bar and Restaurant your getting into and is it close to some interstates? I like the ones with two interstates within 1/2 mile for a rapid bewildering egress. PM me, we might be able to work something out for us. LOL I asked for your HONEST Job You mean what I tell the IRS I do for income? Between "jobs" I'm an Occupational Therapist.

You'll learn once you've been an officer for while the difference between officer and enlisted leadership. Enlisted leadership is harder in some ways, but not in all ways. Officers get paid the big money to make decisions ultimately. Enlisted get paid to keep the troops moving most efficiently.
It's the reason why many pilots do their best to stay in the cockpit for as long as possible. While it's not easy, I would imagine, to jump in an airplane it beats the hell out of 30 people coming to your door asking you to make decisions every day.

The major difference between officer and enlisted leadership is The responsibility. It is dramatically different. Ray hit it dead on the head with those you are in charge of.

Taking early (age 52) retirement due to depression, with not all my 30 years in the same state, I'm making do with SocSec and about a third of a teacher's pension. Kept busy as fix-it man (home maintenance, repair, additions) until arthritis shut me down. Low property values (hence rent) in dwindling town keeps me viable. At least the pension has very good health benefits, even tho' premiums eat more of the monthly check each year. Modest trust fund from parents' estate has me thinking about a few acres with small house in so Col or Mt (son's family in Bozeman), since it's a buyer's market for real estate. One way or another, I'll be kicking some shit around somewhere a few more years. With pack-a-day habit and no tolerance for invalid status, I couldn't do the nursing home bit, much less afford it, so don't plan past the time I can get along alone. Four surgeries last year have more or less panned out, so 5-10 years seems a reasonable prognostication.

WER and PJ are right on with the leadership in the military. I was the LPO of two different clinics I worked in. Dept head in the first one, would call me in his office and say lay your dick on the desk, cause I am fixing to knock it off. lol See I told him when we both took over at the same time, he would never yell at any of my guys out in the open. We were a great team, I kept things running smoothly, he made real tough decisions. I had his back no matter what as he had mine. I even told the CO of the hospital once that I would not do what he was ordering me to do, my dept head had already told the kid no surgery. Luckily I didnt get into trouble for that one.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Richard Petty Tony Stewart Greg Biffle Chad Knaus Choclolate Myers Bobby Allison... ... and I will tell you this, when Mr. Alison opened his mouth and began talking.... ... all one(okay... me) could do is just shut up and listen. Alison was the heart of the Alabama boys....... and will draw you in when he recounts such. PJ... you should have been there. we were at his house, on Lake Norman(okay, "right there") and had a bass on the wall that had to go 11+ pounds. Anyways, it was truly a special moment in my life, and would gladly give up my days pay for the privilege. I bid goodnight after a brutal week, and an attempt at going to see, "The Sammies" at a local neighborhood joint down the street,in spite of my own "narcissistic" self. WINK(at least I hope so....) Out....

I sell pork to Isreal. Just kidding, they don't buy pork. But they have these awsome radial tires. Not only do they stop on a dime, they also pick it up! That's just a joke. They don't use dimes.

Currently unemployed, I was an offshore marine surveyor. My company was a 3rd party contractor, and a crew of 2-4 surveyors would be on a vessel in the Gulf of Mexico doing the underwater acoustic measurements for parts of the offshore oil infrastructure...
Starting two jobs this week, both waiting tables again. I've done that and bartended for the last 7 years before I took the surveyors job.

What do you do to make money? What is your HONEST job? I am a recently retired Navy Lieutenant Commander, an owner of a lawn and landscaping company and about 75% sure I am about to be a 50-50 owner of a Bar and Restaurant on the outer Banks of North Carolina. You really do not want to know what I do....
