Toubab Krewe?
I've heard their song "Hang Tan" a few times and really like their sound.

They just played here the other night, Red, and missed seeing them. If I am not mistaken, they hail from Asheville and have a pretty loyal following around here. I am somewhat familiar, yet haven't seen them live. They play around here throughout the year and will catch them soon and give you a report of their live show.
Next band I am seeing is Dark Star Orchestra and that will be tomorrow. After that, Michael Franti & Burning Spear the week following. After that, Marshall Tucker Band and a few others on the hit list. I try to mix it up and see what happens.
Anyways, will give them a look see and get back to you.

Yessir, their site says they hail from Asheville so I figured you would be familiar with them. Hit me back with the details of the show. They have me curious.

I'm in a baiting mood this morning. It's more of a retro bluegrass fushion thing.

Redstick, check out the Avett Bros, if they are ever in your area. Though the push the Bluegrass genre, they kinda have their own take and seems to be rewarding them with sold out shows and plenty of recognition in the music world. I use to work with one of the musicians when he was a production assistant in the film biz, but he made a much wiser choice going the music route.
They were who we saw New Year's Eve here and was totally amazed at the diversity of the crowd and how they all new the words and would sing along while we just bobbed to the music. No one sat down the whole time either, which is what I appreciate, but Charlotte is notorious for sitting on their hands.
Anyways.... they too, are from Charlotte area and probably helped with the familiarity the folks in the audience had.
