It was nice to see Carpenter get a W (his first since the 06 World Series).
The Pirates have played well...

Albert with 7 RBIs yesterday. Milwaukee blew a lead to the Cubs which kind of sucks though

I am hoping posters from the NL Central keep this thread going all year I agree with ya. If the Brewers can win tommorrow, I'll be happy honestly. Going 3-3 against two pretty good teams in the Giants and the Cubs. If we can take 2 out of 3 vs the Reds it will be a very good start.

The Pirates are playing well one day and terrible the next... inconsistency is a recipe for disaster once you get to the dog days in July and August... they'll have everyone on the roster available at the trade deadline....guaranteed...

A hell of a game for Aaron Harang today. The guy threw a complete game in right around 100 pitches and didn't give up a run. Nice to get a complete game under the belt early, and he seems to have turned it around from last year (16 losses?).
With a healthy and solid Harang it allows the younger guys to move down a rung and takes some pressure off them.

What'd you say on that last one? The admin got to it VERY quickly.. GBR Said:I don't know, you should probably know what not winning feels like.. I'm not an asshole Your right, but in Wisconsin the Brewers are something we follow just to waste time till the Packers and the Badgers. That being said whenever I ask Cubs fans why their assholes they say "We do it because we're Cubs fans." (Cubs still Bleux)

Theodore Roosevelt Lilly took a no-hitter into the seventh. Another solid outing as the Cubs shutout the Rockies 4 to nothing.

BTB the thing is the Reds have a great staff but in that ballpark it is just hard to have real consistency on the mound That is an interesting point. I really like the park...but it is far too offensive oriented (the overall park is a nice place to visit is what I mean here). The pitching staff all throws hard stuff with a lot of downward movement (see Cueto and Volquez) which would be prone to producing more grounders. Too bad they passed on a hometown sinker baller several drafts ago (Brandon Webb?!). That park can lure hitters, but they will have to continue to build their pitching from within to be consistently successful IMO. They have to go after a certain 'type' of pitcher to be successful. The park is built for hr hitters. The fact that the Reds got rid of their hr hitters and built the team around defense and pitching is a little ridiculous to me. But folks are talking like this team could contend for the wild card and that has me excited (w/ the Cubs as the clear favorite for the division).

I didn't get to see the game, but watched it play by play online. The Brewers will struggle with the back half of that rotation in my opinion (actually anyone behind Gallardo).

I watched it on gamecast as well. It doesn't look good early on. They aren't winning close games, which they were able to do last season.

I never really watch Baseball but, I keep up with the Reds and Cubs mostly. Sometimes the Tigers as well.
When I was growing up in Ohio I actually liked the Reds but, didn't really care for the other Ohio teams like the Browns and, Bengals and of course Ohio State! Didn't care much for the Cavs either.
I went to a couple Reds games in my time living in Cincinnati and, enjoyed them.

In other words the only team from Ohio I liked while I was growing up was the Reds. I can't really keep up with them that much though so, some of the Reds fans if there are any here on the site, will have to keep me updated on the teams progression.
