The wife bought me Guess and Calvin Klein jeans and I tried to explain to her that, at least in my impression, the only guys wearing designer jeans since the 1980s have been gay. She says it's BS and wants me to ask the board. For the record, I've got to include "Metrosexual" in with the gay crowd in this particular context.

Definitely Metro........at a minimum.
Levi 501 button fly jeans here or nothing. My wife has learned. Don't buy me clothes.

Jeans is jeans unless it's my Aunt Jean - I still get mine from Wally World aka WalMart -

I think designer jeans would, at least, start to put a little swish in the swagger. Levis, Wrangler, or any other that don't have that designer label on them are manly. But I don't live on the left coast, this is strictly a southern perspective.

As long as there's nothing stupid about 'em, I don't care. No label on the back, though.

I just checked - a pair or Wrangler and one of Rustler - just a happy hippie - take a little trippy - movin on down the road -
If you only have one why is it called a "pair" of jeans -

If you only have one why is it called a "pair" of jeans - why is "bra" singular & "panties" are plural.....

Levi are the mainstay, but I do have some non-labeled jeans that might be considered a bit hippy and English. What can I say, the old man was an actor and I have his blood. But no, no Guess, etc.

Man those aren't really even designer jeans IMO. In today's age doesn't mean you are batting for the other team. Myself I personally wear Lucky brand jeans.

Wouldn't a man in California imply enough gayness? Kidding....
Overall I don't pay much attention to what a guy is wearing to know that he was wearing a specific brand of jeans. I just don't care that much.

Well it depends on what you mean by designer. I wear mostly Indigo Palms just because they are so fucking comfortable. I also wear polo jeans, nautica, and brooks brothers. I'm sorry, Levis are fine after you wear them for two years and break them, but supima cotton denim is much more comfortable.

i like gap. i have some from express and Aeropastale too. one pair of lucky's I can't shop at Express because I still remember it as when it was only a women's store (the men's store was called Structure). Just a mental block I guess. My oldest daughter loves Aeropostale which is probably why I can't shop there either.

I get the friends and family discount cards (to give away) two or three times per year (20% off Old Navy, 30% off Gap / Bananna Republic). Let me know if you want me to send you the discount cards.

I don't think "designer" jean are the outward sign of same sex desires that they once were. And for the record, I don't think Calvin Klein counts as designer jeans anymore. He stuff is too mainstream to be designer. Then again I wear almost nothing but Eddie Bauer jeans. Just fit better. Levi's were ok, but the EB's are just more comfortable.

i think this is an age thing too. younger you are, you are more likely to not think it is a big deal. not everyone of course, but i think it would be biased that way.

I have a pair of GAP jeans and it has one less belt loop in the back, it drives me crazy. I got a pair of Brooks Brothers jeans about 8 years ago that fit great, but the one's they have now are like Mommy Jeans for men. I would prefer Levis, but I don't wear jeans (non-shorts) that often. Mostly jorts during the day and khakis night.

Yeah... it's pretty much Hagar slacks for me rhvgator. But the few pairs of jeans I do own and wear occasionally are Gap.
