TMZ.com (I know) reporting that the Feds have asked someone connected to the Cam Newton case about knowledge of the actions of Milton McGregor, a "bingo hall" (read: casino) owner and Auburn booster that was recently arrested on suspicion of bribing members of the state legislature in the hopes of pro-gambling votes.
This story just gets crazier and crazier...

However, if this is true and there is a connection to McGregor, it would help explain where the FBI fits into this story.

Maybe in the course of investigating McGregor, the FBI intercepted a phone call that involved the alleged pay for play scheme...

I don't get what this has to do with Cam Newton other than "Bond was supposed to have talked to Cam Newton". The six degrees of Cam Newton?

Well he is a booster for Auburn, I believe he donated a million dollars to Auburn last year. Guy is dirty and going down for trying to buy votes. Now if he was involved for PFP I have no idea.

That seems to be the general consensus on the LSU sites I frequent. Whether or not the NCAA can do anything with it is up for debate. I'm sure the FBI's investigation will take precedence.

Maybe in the course of investigating McGregor, the FBI intercepted a phone call that involved the alleged pay for play scheme... There is no doubt, they were caught talking about football. McGregor is a huge, huge Auburn supporter. Wonder how that tape went. Ainsworth said more than 1,000 of the calls were between defendants and their attorneys or their spouses, and 7,800 were not pertinent to the investigation.
"It might have been a conversation about a golf game or Saturday's football game," he said.War Cam Eagle, he was worth every dime. blog.al.com/wire/2010/10/bingo_probe_wiretaps_mcgregor.htmlPS Whamill I know this is a reach..... ;D

Um, they were in the South weren't they? Hell, I can't even use the restroom at the Chick-fil-A without someone in the stall next to me startin' up a discussion of CFB.

Yes, he was. You just missed it as you skimmed through it. I think if you read my post, carefully, you might see some relevance. I am not trying to pass judgement on Auburn, but what better way for the Auburn boosters, some of whom are rather shady, to compensate a player, than to hire someone else to do it, like the Lobbying firm in my post, that they seem to have funneled a bunch of money to. No, I'm not saying this is what happened, or that there is any proof of it. I'm just offerring a possible scenario. Fair enough?

I mean, there's always people around Alabama claiming to have been abducted. Couldn't Auburn have talked to the aliens while abducted and asked them to abduct Cam's father so that negotiation and payment could be made outside the Earth's atmosphere -- and possible NCAA jurisdiction? I mean I'm jes' sayin'.

Speaking of Waffle House, have you ever played the "Waffle House Theme" song on the Waffle House Juke box?
At 2:00 am in the morning, after a bender, while eating waffles and fried eggs, it is pretty hilarious, at least from what I can remember.
Probably one of those "you have to have been there" ordeals.
