I guess I am dumb. Why is this worthy of, "Dumb photo caption of the day"? To this dumb ass, it looks like an Indiana State players is throwing a stiff arm on an Indiana player. Outside of being "Caption" Obvious, it seems to be at the very least, factual. What am I missing?
Signed,
Dumb ass #1 Herp…Derp…Uh….Huh…hu…huh...

Which arm looks like he's throwing a stiff arm? Both, including the one on the helmet, are completely bent.

Wow, that is even get a bit too technically silly for even me, Smog. Oh, I don't know, but this is a still frame of a moving moment. A stiff arm is not one millisecond in length. It is fluid and has a beginning, middle and end. This is but one fraction of that moment called a stiff arm, and is captured in a picture. Sounds like you are getting crazy technical here. Just my silly opinion.

Just my silly opinion. He was captioning a picture, not a video. What happened before or after the photo is irrelevant. His caption of the picture, not the video, not the play, was describing an action that isn't actually in the picture at all. It leaves me wondering if the guy even knows what a "stiff arm" in football is and I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't. It wouldn't be the first journalist reporting on something they're not up to speed on. If it was a frame capture and you were trying to capture a stiff arm, it would have been simple to have actually captured the stiff arm millisecond as this one -- or maybe caption it another way?

I know you are a very smart man, Sad, and am not calling that out, that is for sure. Just seemed to me you were being a little technical. I hear ya, but my team won Saturday, so I am in a very giving mood today.
