I guess this might be humorous to some. Frankly for supposed adults, it is pretty weak. And we wonder why sportsmanship is out the windows. Did I say juvenile? Well, at least it isn't classless...or...never mind.

Every chance Ohio State gets to stick it to Michigan, it does. And the Buckeyes' latest jab at the Wolverines will stand for some time, etched eternally in a trophy on Ohio State's campus.
The 2014 National Championship trophy, now sitting in the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at Ohio State, features the 15 games the Buckeyes played during their title run, including the postseason wins over Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon. Only one team isn't listed on the trophy: Michigan.
In place of the Wolverines, Ohio State included the letters "TUN," which stands for "Team Up North," the term the Buckeyes use for their Big Ten rival.

I agree that's weak. You think they'd want to be completely factual in a tribute to their own championship.

Agree Layla. I get the rivalry thing. But to do this to your official trophy is really classless. Maybe they should have left the Virginia Tech game result blank.
Not to mention, do these guys think this would really bother Michigan? Seriously, I can't imagine they would do anything other than laugh.

Its almost as if they feel the need to validate the rivalry. This is weak on a lot of levels. This is your official NC Trophy and authenticity should mean something. Not surprising though from Urban or tOSU.

Brady Hoke routinely referred to the Buckeyes as just "Ohio". Les Miles repeatedly (and presumably intentionally) mispronounces "Arkansas". It's the little things that count.

Pretty embarrassing if one were to ask me. Sad state of affairs if this is what it has come to between OSU and UM. Ahhhh, today's world. <smh>

Those things are fine and actually good for CFB. But on the official trophy to use a demeaning name for your rivals is bush league. Hell steve spurrier is a jackass, but I bet if there's a plaque with a list of florida's opponents in 1996 it doesn't say Free Shoes University.

No, but seriously, are we really complaining about this?
It says "TUN" which stands for "team up North." It doesn't say "scUM weasels", it doesn't say "Ann Arbor is a whore" it says "TUN." About as harmless as a light jab at your rival can get.

I would show a little more class and honor, but that is simply my take and how I view such. I don't think I would choose to disrespect the trophy because it is usually something that takes a lot of luck, sweat and tears to achieve. Just seems pretty classless to use it as a vehicle to slam on a rival.

I hate Minnesota (and Marquette) (rivalry wise) and we love to call them the "goofers" or the "mighty flying squirrels" and other things but on the actual official trophy. Yea that is really bush league and years from now the people who made this call are going to be embarrassed by their childishness in the matter.....

Looking at some GoBlue message boards, they seem to see it as just more of the same from the rivalry. Some of them even see it as more of a tribute to Woody Hayes than a shot at Michigan. Heck, a few of them even want shirts that say "TUN" but are maize and blue.

The fact that some folks don't see an issue with it, actually says it all. It is the era we live in. Sad.

Its the little things that count. It isn't a big deal by itself. Rivalries make college football what it is. We may hate our rivals. But without them, we have some sterile NFL type product. Hate but respect. But I am just old fashioned and think silly, petty stuff has its place on blogs, not on well earned, if tarnished trophies. Just me though.

I have no problem with OSU fans referring to Michigan as TUN, but on a trophy. Gotta agree that this is juvenile. Not sure I understand how it is derogatory to them, but really, you want that on a trophy that is that important???

If I were a Michigan fan, I would be laughing at how silly it is. Then again, Urban has a history dealing with trophies that get broken.

I think it's a complement to their rivalry - of course I might be overly mellow but I thought that before I became mellow and made this post. What does UM call that team down south - I'm sure it isn't tOSU.....

If you were a Michigan fan you might be crying instead of laughing. Your rival just won the national title and doesn't seem to be slowing down. While Michigan continues to struggle in conference and out of conference. I don't see this as a huge deal.

I think it's ironic, and I know that it's not on an official trophy, that NCB is expressing his outrage while he has a picture of a road worn rooster in his signature line because the dawgs are playing the gamecocks this week.
