But at today's standards, Bear Bryant, Darrell Royal, Tom Osborne and a host of other Hall of Fame coaches would have been fired. We are an impatient, throw away society in many ways. Allegedly he inherited a huge mess. If he didn't inherit a mess, they should not have fired his predecessor. Woody Hayes is another example. Edit: He was 16-9-2 in his first three seasons. That would not likely have kept his job at OSU these days.

The asshat slugged a player on the other team, while he was running down the sideline.

I would see Texas Throwing "$10 Million a year" at Saban.... If not, it would be enough to blow the old record away.
But i would say Chip Kelly would be the first target, since i think he is going to gave a losing season in Philly.
He comes back for Saban type dollars...

Saban aint that hard up from money. That's a hot pile of Garbage growing into a large dumpster fire there in Austin.
Here is the deal, Texas has lost it's luster. Like ND, highschool fresh, soph, even jrs., have no idea that ND/TX were really good at one point. Same for Miami & Nebraska. Point being, those programs recruited themselves and got he pick of the litter ala what Saban has done at Alabama. Now these guys are getting decent players but not the cream of the crop they use to pull when they were competetive. Also, now you have TCU, Baylor, & aTm, along with schools that are irrelevant on the national scene but do well (for their standard) like Houston & Texas Tech.

I agree with ND, Miami, and Nebraska, but Texas was in a National Championship game in the last 6 years. I don't think any recruits are young enough to not remember that. And I'm sure most of them know who Vince Young is.
