That score was not indicative of how the game was played. Come on Rutgers.....UL and you have some shit to clear up!

I would like to see Rutgers tighten up their defense, but their offense looked good. Teel is turning into a good quarterback for them.

The score was not how the game was played. There was 1 navy penalty that gave Rutgers a TD. There were 4 Rutgers penalties that gave navy 2TD's. I never complain about refs. This game was rediculous. There was a penalty everytime you turned around. Rutgers did a good job on D. Penalties gave Navy more first downs on 4th down than the team garnered all last season. When you are pushed into the kicker, after he has kicked the ball, It cant be a penalty when his own teammate is the one that causes it. ... I still dont know how good Rutgers is because they were never really given a chance to play football. Same for navy. Who knows. I think Rutgers would have won without the penalties because of the turnovers but Navy could have made a run. It was pathetic officiating. Let the kids play football.

It was a pretty ugly game -- course mine was the ugliest game I have seen in years. Glad Rutgers won but I didn't like that they kept Rice in and scoring till the last minute of the game. That was just stupid and looked like blatant stat padding for the Heisman. The game was totally over before that point.

ULDN-
Keeping Rice in was more for paying back Navy from 3 years ago when they beat us some 53-19 or whatever, and less about padding his "Heisman stats". Chances are that he wins are very slim. Moreover, Rice is usually one to take himself out of games (re: last years Navy game when he had his streak of 100 yard+ rushing games at stake, took himself out in the 4th when he had 93 yards).
Payback is a bitch.
I agree, though, and I would've taken Rice out and let Young get some more reps. No sense in hurting Rice after sealing the game with the 53 yard reception to Britt down the sideline (which, they couldn't interfere with this time, MFers).
The D tightened up a bit from the Buffalo game (despite allowing 21 more points), but as a whole the team played sloppier. Penalties galore. They only did allow Navy to rush for 250 yards, which isn't so bad considering it is all Navy does, and they normally average over 300 yards. Not as good as last years 34-0 effort in Annapolis when we held them to 113 yards, but you can't do that every year.
Teel is becoming a lot more confident. Not as many overthrows this time around. Only one (which led to the pick) that Underwood bumped into the air like a volleyball set. Courtney Greene with the nice steal to even that series out and keep Navy from scoring right after that.
The crowd was fun, except for some really really really dumb fucking bitches that sat behind me and my group.
I guess while we keep getting glimpses at what Rutgers might be about, we won't really get a full gauge until Maryland in 2 weeks how they'll do against other BCS foes. I'm just waiting for USF to come to town, since that'll be a fun game.
