I wish I had answers... Defense hasn't been terrible, but offensively I don't understand what we're doing... They have 9 in the box and we refuse to throw downfield... We've thrown 2 balls down the field, one was a TD and one was dropped for a 20 yard gain...

They pinned OSU on the two yd line with a punt and tackled Wells in the end zone. I'm just watching on the computer but so far the zips are out gaing us. Hopefully we wake up soon.

Looks to me like Coach rod isnt playing anything that Marshall didnt see last week. It also looks like we forgot that we were actually playing football in the first half. Im not worried .... WVU always has one wake up game. This is it.

Man, this guy on Marshall is a freshman and he is giving WVU all they can handle -- well, actually more than they can handle.

#3 in the country? Really?

CFB is going to be fun this year - we might have 8 teams at 11-1 or 12 teams at 10-2 with no one 12-0 - that should destroy the bcs.

I think this game seems more shocking than it really is. WVU has been blown up to superhero status in the offseason while Marshall has the perception of being worse than they really are. My kneejerk was that this would be a 55-3 kind of game, but Marshall had some offense last season, having scored 40+ in 5 different games including hanging 49 on UTEP in November.

Now WVU is looking better and after that run - Devine could be the real deal.

Every team needs a wake up game. Sometimes they begin to believe thier own hype untill someone comes and slaps them in the face. We got slapped in the face in the first half and came out in the second and put 42 points on the board. No excuses for the first half though. But I would say we did play like a #3 team in the second.

Well, people should just realize though that the philosophy should apply to everyone. Doesn't really seem right to bash some teams for a lousy half and then they adjust and win big, but give others credit for the same thing. Maybe it would be really good for all teams over this next week or two to experience a really bad half and a scare to make them get off other teams' backs. I know when my team is lousy and admit it, but when we adjust and settle it down and play to win and follow through then that credit should be given too. Instead of just the bashing of the mistakes.
Way to go WVU to get your kinks out. But I still give big kudos to Marshall for playing hard and good. They might do some damage to some teams this year by putting two halves together like their first one.

I'll give both UL and WVU good second half performances - it's a long year - plenty of great football to go.

Glad we finally woke up and figured out we had a motivated opponent with some talent. Marshall played from the heart. The secret weapon was when we snuck Goose in the locker room at half time and he passed the peace pipe around and adjusted their attitudes.

BCS ... Goose was the distraction. While he did that I went and switched all thier shoes around. Didnt you notice the Right defensive tackle's shoes? he was wearing ballerina slippers.
