Georgia went hard after Miami's Frank Haith before hiring Nevada's Mark Fox on Thursday. But as one of Haith's UM friends said, the job wasn't enough of an upgrade (or, arguably, any upgrade) to persuade him to leave.

That's understandable, but I think that Fox might actually be a better coach.

Purnell is a really solid coach all the way around. You'll like Fox though. Just don't expect him to chicken shit into chicken soup over night.

Fox is a good coach. Kind of a hot-head at times....also his wife is from Athens. Congrats UGA hope he does well for ya. On a side note the SEC now has two former Nevada Wolf Pack coaches. Trent Johnson and Fox. Hmmmm, Univ.of Nevada becoming the breeding ground for SEC coaches....

I'd like to see PSU build on the NIT championship next year, but I don't have much faith in that possiblity. Reno, That's intersting about Fox's wife. I didn't know she was a local girl from Athens. Nevada sure has had some solid coaches of late.

Just don't expect him to chicken shit into chicken soup over night. purnell is very solid but it takes him a few years to find athletes for his system. Next year will be first year with a starting 5 that fits his style. Clemson was picked low in ACC this year but next year them and Wake may have the most talent. Purnell is great guy and well respected hence the reason he has been voted ncaa coaches association pres. he is a class act. very good speaker and even better guy

Clemson's been competitive every year with him at least.
