I'm jealous goose
My genius plan to get out of work by 2:30 and to crack my first beer by 3:30 didn't come to fruition...would it have been so wrong to just blow off my clients this afternoon? I don't think so...they do it to me when they have a tee time

Crown is always a good decision.... I'm sticking with the Vodka (to steal my idea from earlier in the thread) in honor of Malkin and Gonchar having big games... but I think I should switch to Yuengling (PA based) so I don't pass out during pregame or get arrested....

That's a solid move...the sad part is no one would care if i skipped out early because there are only about three of us here anyway...I just have a nagging feeling that it will benefit me to stick around

If you're into numbers:
Sidney Crosby: Born on Aug. 7, 1987 (8/7/87)... why he wears #87.... Tonight's game is the 87th game on this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs..... hmmmm... could Sid the Kid come up big? It might be in the stars....

My older son, the 8 year old Ovechkin fan, just found out he has the same birthday as Sidney Crosby (yep my boy was born August 7th). He has gone mental, after 6 games of rooting for the Wings he now thinks he wants the Pens to win because he has the same birthday as Crosby. The four year old, who has been rooting Pens the whole way and just lvoes Sidney Crosby is upset by this, he likes rooting against his brother. Gotta love 8 year old kid logic ;D

Your sons are brilliant young men...and I'm jealous of the logic of eight year olds...maybe that's how I'll pick the baseball team I root for for the remainder of the season since the Pirates are out of contention
BTW all is now right with the world...out of work and drinking bourbon.
Let's Go Pens!!

Good job Pens, game over. 12-0 with the lead going into the 3rd. Great series. Pissed. drunk. Going to smoke a Cuban cigar. Yee of little faith I am. Game, Series, Over. Goose, you have material for a year. Use it. Good job Pittsburgh.

Congrats, Goose, enjoy your evening. And all you other, Penguin fans. I was pulling for them but tonight I yield to you all and your excitement. Now, am I missing something about this booing.... ? Or was that a cheer of some sort?

Congrats Goose...I don't give a crap about hockey, but you've had a pretty average-crappy sports year, so at least you get something to celebrate you know with the Lions, and Pirates.

WARNING: PUI
Well, I'm at the tail end of a bender that started about 5:30 p.m. Friday in the South Side of Pittsburgh, and all I can say is what a great series!! I have a feeling this won't be the last time the Pens and Wings meet, as Mike Lang would put it, "in the schoolyard to settle this thing once and for all!"
Lets Go Pens, and now it's time to count down the days until football season.

I can't wait for the parade on Monday. They brought the trophy to the Pirates- Tigers game today at PNC Park. Last time these two cities played for a title was in the 1909 World Series won by the Pirates.

I love the Wings! They are the only Detroit team I really like. I'm a Bulls fan so im not really high on the Pistons. I don't mind the Tigers though! The Lions on the other hand....... I'm not really a fan of that team.

I take full responsibility for the Wings loss. I went to work at my bar on Thursday night with my Red Wings shirt on all amped up for the game. Then on the bottom ticker its like HEyyy 8:30 on Friday is the game. I was like FRIDAY ?? I talked with a couple other people wanting to watch the game and they were like yeah, I thought it was Thrusday too!
As I look down at my Red Wings shirt I wore on the day BEFORE the game, I realized I had screwed up and cursed the Wings to lose at home. =( Sorry everybody !
Anyways, it was a great series and great game 7. The Wings came out strong in the beginning of the 1st. Then in the 2nd I never saw so many pucks bounce the other way. Good passes were hitting of skates, garbage in front of the net was getting knocked out of the way. It was hard to watch as they had so many chances.
Congrats to the Penguins, live it up now, because after partying for the Super Bowl and the Stanley Cup.... you know damn well the Pirates aint bringing shit home =)

Great series, fantazstic game 7. Really could not have asked for anything better than this (unless you area Wings fan of course. These playoffs were the best in years and this will be great for NHL hockey in the future. Congrats to both teams on a well played series, it was a truly amazing run.
