Ok, so there was a thread about this awhile back, but no decision was made. The rules have changed slightly because I now have a free plane ticket anywhere Southwest Airlines flies and I came into some unexpected money (some, not a lot).
So, 4 day weekend, GF out of the country and I NEED to get the hell out of Reno. Suggestions?

Go to the Livingston Round-Up Rodeo on the 4th, with bike riding and rafting the Yellowstone River, while hiking in the Absaroka Mountains, with a visit to Chico Hot Springs for a dip in the Hot Springs Pool, optional massage therapy and some fine dining. Oh yeah, do not forget the Parade on the 2nd, as it is a true Norman Rockwell-like experience. By the way, this is in Montana. The Parade, now, through the eyes of a child... Paradise Valley and the surrounding area where hiking to here is right around the corner... one way to float the Yellowstone... and to finish it all off, a trip to Chico... and the Wine Dining Room, associated with some fine dining in a semi-casual atmosphere, jeans and shorts okay... Hope you enjoyed the pictorial as this is exactly what I would be doing if I was there. And I might just be. Hope you will too, someday.....

I'd go to San Diego, but that's just me.
Or I guess you could fly into BWI and spend the weekend with your pal BHO. ;D

I can't leave here until the night of the second. I think the closest I can get by plane is Boise, then rent a car. Hmmmmmmm. It would be a shame to do all that alone though. Know any young unattached hotties I can take to dinner?

I thought you were going to the capitol and protest the 4th as a racist, conservative, holiday symbolizing white imperialism, slavery, and death to the native people's of America?
Man! I had you all wrong

Hey, we're actually kinda working on it for ya. If we happen to find a lovely young lady for ya, I'll let ya know... Let her know it is a college student, who is on a trip for the Fourth of July, and is looking to experience a little 'southern hospitality'. Go get um dpb! The most patriotic thing I can think of doing is going to a reading of the Declaration of Independence, which I will probably not be able to do this year (they usually read it in the center of small towns like they did in 1776).

I suggested West Central Florida to dpb, cuz I'll be kicking back on the beach myself over the 4th. My family stays at Indian Rocks Beach ever year... which is between St. Petersburg/Treasure Island and Clearwater. Awesome surf, sand, and sunsets! Any of you guys from around here up for a meeting on the water???

I have to admit I love the South West Coast of Florida, love Naples. One of, if not the best Rizt Carlton's in the world. Not the Golf one but the beach one.
