I don't get what they are trying to do with baseball cards... I guess make it into a business vs. have them mainly for kids collecting them. I know that about 5 or 6 years ago, Topps changed the printer that they used (I was shocked originally when I found out that they didn't print their own cards) and I haven't seen the difference in all of the editions or anything. But I wonder if any of it is due to the capabilities of the new printer.

Yeah it probably has something to do with the printing. They are much more intricate now.
Looked through some newer cards with my dad the other day and what he said was so funny. 'These are the best looking worthless cards I have ever seen'.
It is really too bad that it has become a business instead of a hobby. I collected cards when I was younger, but can't do it anymore (can't keep track of all the crap they are doing now).
I found a pack of cards that my dad had that was unopened from the 1970's. The gum was still in there, but neither of us would eat it. Some good cards were in there. A Bench card which was pretty cool.

I agree about collecting cards... I feel like the entire game has gone that direction though... getting to the game, at least up here, is hard to make a family affair... $150 per ticket, comes to $600 for tickets alone for 4 people... just outrageous!!!
