1 rib is cracked, and the other is bruised. He'll be out 4-6 weeks which means he'll miss the first 1-2 weeks of the season. Jocoby missed almost the full season last year with bruised ribs... imagine winding up with a cracked/bruised rib I've bruised my ribs before it sucks. I'm sure it's worse for a position player especially an outfielder who has to run, I was barely able to when I bruised my rib. I'm guessing you have similar problems with a pitcher and having to wind up and pitch.

Prediction for the 4th Annual thread: Pujols will be a Cubbie They would have to give him atleast 35 million for him to atleast consider it and that would be stupid

Brewers start their World Series Championship Season tomorrow. Go Brew Crew!
Honestly, if the Cubs sign a 1B free agent from the NL Central it'll be Fielder.

Well, at least Gallardo looked pretty good(He didn't have his best stuff, but he only allowed 2 runs), too bad it looks like we might have another closer who's going to meltdown.

Well, at least Gallardo looked pretty good(He didn't have his best stuff, but he only allowed 2 runs), too bad it looks like we might have another closer who's going to meltdown. It looked like in the 9th the Reds had the plan to only hit Axford's fastball. When he got to his breaking ball it was nasty and he struck out Jay Bruce (he didn't get ahead of any other hitters). He made a couple of mistake pitches (first pitch to Phillips, first pitch to Gomes, and the elevated fastball that Hernandez just tagged). If he can get to his breaking ball he has a good chance to be a pretty effective closer (most of his fastballs were down in the zone). It was an awesome comeback win for the Reds, because it never really felt like they were in the game and even their rally in the 9th appeared to stopped after loading the bases and only scoring 1 run (while getting two outs).

I didn't watch the game, since it was during class. So I'm just looking off of stats. Like I said before this worries me a lot because in 2 of the past 4 or so years Turnbow, and Hoffman were coming off very good years and then early on in the season they blow some saves and continue to struggle. Hopefully it doesn't happen to Axford, but it could.

Please toph we don't need your garbage on this thread. How bout them Brewers? Closing on the Reds, and playing some great baseball. Marcum has looked good the past two starts. Cardinals have looked like shit what's the deal MIZ-SIU?

The Reds blew one today. Nick Masset has struggled in the early season. He did the same thing early last season and was nearly unhittable at the end of the year (hope he turns it around soon).
The Reds have gotten some nice performances by Sam LeCure and Travis Wood in the last couple of days and nearly wasted them both.

Getting swept by the Nationals is never a good thing, the only positive I can say is that the hitting let the team down. Not the pitching.

The Reds are on a 4 game slide.....They are struggling.
I am listening to the Reds/Diamondbacks game since I got home early from school. Mike Leake has made his return to the team.
If no one heard he got busted for shop lifting and got in trouble for it. Why a pitcher who makes millions would steal from a store is mind boggling.

Looks like toph has disappeared after what the Brewers did to his team this weekend, and the Brewers extend Braun to 2020. Good week in sports.

I like this Lance Berkman fella I'm shocked how long you've been missing with how well the Cards are playing. Brewers can't hit right now. I honestly think I could throw a shutout against them right now. And their defense is terrible. Marcum though continues to pitch well, and even though he gave up quite a few of runs I don't think he pitched that badly.

A nice start by Homer Bailey today. He has very good stuff, and seems to have made his motion more repeatable.
On Sunday the Reds projected rotation will all have finally started with Johnny Cueto coming back, and hopefully throwing the ball well.

Interesting game to open a series for the Reds-Cards. The Reds walk off in the 10th with Votto hitting a RBI single.
Lohse pitched very well, and the Cards bullpen hurt them again. Should be another really good series.
I don't know if the Central has an elite team, but they have 6 teams that are pretty solid, should be an interesting divisional race.

1.5 games between the top 3 teams and 4.5 between the top 4. Definitely a race to watch in MLB..

The Reds have really struggled lately and even so remain just five games back. With Rolen on the DL and the struggles in the Reds pitching has been extremely frustrating.
A tight race at the top of the division.
Tonight the Reds threw a game away with some bad defense (box score says 3 errors, I watched the game and would have given them 5). Cueto didn't give up an earned run tonight (gave up 6 runs all unearned), frustrating for him.
