I am pulling for a bowl game between LSU and Notre Dame. I'm hoping for an A&M / ND matchup

I do not like ND at all but if they stay undefeated they belong ahead of any 1-loss team.

GT - this SOS thing - what is it based on And if SOS is that important would a team with a SOS of 70 make the playoffs over a team with a SOS of 40 if their records were 10-2 and 8-4 - 8-4 being the SOS 40 team I think this in an honest question. *See Boise St thread over the last 5 years. No need to go over this again. If all of us, including myself, rode the Boise States and Utahs for poor SOS as a reason for omittance, we must hold the Big 6 to the same standard.

I gotta agree with bcsbbad on this one. Back when you had those 4 and also the Citrus, and few others, you were watching all of the January 1 bowls and ALL of them could end up having an effect on the final poll that gave the MNC to some team. Remember watching them all in the 1990 season and scream my head off for ND to beat Colorado. As someone who remembers those days I really have lost interest in most bowl games since the BCS came in. You were guaranteed quality football from 10am to 8pm on New Years Day. Now, not so much.

This is why Ive always felt what we have now is better than this phony playoff bill of goods that was sold to the CFB world. No playoff system is going to be perfect, but be that as it may, it will be exponentially better than the beauty pageant that we currently have.

Oh and this assumption that ND could not beat these other top teams is the same general thought about them going to into Norman and beating Oklahoma.
Think ND has just about as solid a resume as anyone.

Think ND has just about as solid a resume as anyone. Bingo......EVERY team left undefeated is flawed. In a one game scenario, who knows what could happen. Oregon is missing 8 of its top defensive players, so I'm not exactly sure who they are going to stop with any regularity. I like Klein for KSU, but not sure about the rest of the weapons on that side of the ball. ND is definitely the most offensively deficient of the remaining undefeated teams, but their front 7 stacks up against any front 7 in the country and are nasty. THey control the line of scrimmage on defense and create TO's.

It was Boise and the point was that they werent playing a big 6 conference schedule. FSU has played and beaten Clemson and VT, and they will be playing Florida

Just keep telling yourself.. "a playoff is coming..... a playoff is coming.... a playoff is coming" and all will be ok.... At least for the top 3... then the bullshit battle for the #4 spot starts, and you are going to get those a-holes that put in a team that they "want" to be good, not nessassarylu a team that "is" worthy of that final spot just to see if their bias is correct... So David, basis today and this year for sake of this question, which team IYO, is "worthy" of the 4th spot. In most all years it's simple... 1. Undefeated Champs from the SEC, B10, B12, P12, and ACC get in. 2. After those spots are filled, a 1-loss SEC, B12, P12, or B10 champ ( in that order) 3. The SOS and victory margin against top 30 teams determine the contestants from rules 1&2 above. 4. ND gets in only by defeating A) a conference champ with only 1 loss. B) is there are no 0-1 loss champs from rules 1&2 to fill the spots. 5. Non-"major" conference champs get in AFTER rules 1-4 do not fil the 4 spots. Unless they are undefeated with a 1-loss champ from Rule2 in the win column, AND if there SOS and margins better ND. It's quiet simple. Just give us a 16 team playoff snd be done with it!!!!

Even with the 4 team Playoffs that have been purposed starting soon. What would happen if over the next 3 weeks the top 3 teams lost? and the next 6 all won out in big fashion, except for the one the loses in the SECCG. The Play off as purposed do not require a Conference Champ. Would that mean you would have 4 SEC teams in the playoffs, with one or two SEC teams bitching because they got the shaft?
