15 minutes into the Dortmund-Madrid return match in the Spanish Capital. Game 0-0 at this point. Dortmund has 3 goal aggregate lead but needs to get at least one goal to match Madrid's away goal. A 3-0 Madrid win gets Real to Wembley for the final.
Dortmund's best player Mario Goetze comes out of the game. No explanation for the change. Apparently injured as they would not have substituted for him if it were not serious.
Damn games are only on pay per view Fox Soccer Channel so having to look at the German ARD ticker.

Halftime. Dortmund withstands furious Real attack with 5 good shots on goal. Last 25 minutes of the half were quieter and the 100K in the stadium have grown quieter and less than patient. The 0-0 is very good for the Bundesliga Champs of 2011 and 2012.

Dortmund hangs on, losing 2-0. They advance to the finals at Wembley 4-3 on aggregate. Real scored in the 88th minute to make it a nail biter. Even with 5 minutes extra time, Borussia survives and goes to London for the 25 May finale.

Hey BD I actually thought Real would win 3-0 and advance but I was wrong....Looking like a German final in England

Bayern is in better shape. They could lose 5-1 and still advance. But strange things have happened to them over the past 10 years in Champions League play...last year's final being a perfect example.

Hopefully they win. I believe they're the best team in the world.
Did you get the email about the other site being shut down until June?

Good stuff. Now if my team can get over the hump and whup Borussia. Dortmund won the Bundesliga in 11 and 12, but Bayern just clinched the league in record time and had a 20 point lead when they did it. They have beaten Dortmund both games this year. But you never know. And Goetze, their best player is transferring to Bayern next season.

Thomas Mueller puts Bayern up 2-1 with 22 minutes left in the game. But if Man U can get a goal, they have the big advantage of away goals.

Robben puts Bayern up 3-1. They are now in the drivers seat as Man U needs to score twice to tie and take the aggregate lead. However about a decade ago, Bayern led Man U by a goal in the final and they were in extra time. Man U scored twice after the 90th minute to steal the game. Bayern has never forgotten that mark on their record as without it they would be second only to Real in total European Championships.
Athletico Madrid leads Barcelona 1-0 late in the game in Madrid. If things would hold we would have Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid and Chelsea in the semis.

Bayern wins 3-1 and wins on aggregate 4-2. Athletico holds off Barcelona 1-0 and advances 2-1. First time in 7 years that Barca has not made semis and first time ever for Athletico making the semis.
