Maybe this is Miss State's year for the title. Geaux Dawgs. What would make it their year vs the other 7 teams in Omaha? Just curious?

Yeah, Ron Polk has some great teams in the early 80's. The CWS team with Clark, Palmeiro, Thigpen, Brantley, etc...was an awesome team.

Too many people complaining about the new bats and lack of runs.

UNC just added an insurance one to go up 4-1 in the 7th. Not looking good for LSU

LSU loaded the bases in the 8th but couldn't score. Down to their last 3 outs trailing 4-2

Epic letdown for LSU. I'm going for NC State and Oregon State now. Bruins getting no respect from the LSU fanbase I see. Not sure Oregon State can come out of the losers bracket, beating Indiana and Miss. State twice.

They showed me nothing in the LSU game to convince me otherwise. LSU left half the population of Nebraska in running position in their two losses.

They showed me nothing in the LSU game to convince me otherwise. LSU left half the population of Nebraska in running position in their two losses. They left 7 on base against UCLA, the same number the Bruins left on. Gave up 5 hits for the game. Kept your leadoff batter off the bases. Between the solo HR in the 4th and the 2 out hit in the 9th LSU got 1 hit. The Bruins aren't going to overpower anyone. They rely on good pitching and small ball. I think they have as good a chance as anyone. Afterall, before LSU ran into UCLA they were "a buzzsaw". They had won 5 straight in the postseason by a combined 37-14. Maybe UCLA deserves a little credit for holding them to 1 run and 5 hits?

A couple of other things about this: The fact that the park is playing big arguably helps the Bruins more than anybody. They weren't going to hit the long ball anyway. They only hit 19 for the season. 19. What this park does is it allows their pitchers to throw fastballs with little fear of the ball flying out, making their good pitchers even better. Conversely the long ball teams are screwed.
UCLA also had arguably the best bullpen in the nation and are used to winning close games. They are 16-2 this year in one run games and have won 12 games in which they've scored 3 or less.
Am I guaranteeing a win? Nope, but I do believe they have as good a shot as anybody

Pretty evenly matched game so far.
