Bottom of 5, and Gators are whooping some Bammers' asses. Gators lead 6-1, and look like they will sweep Bama.

Gators destroyed the Bammers, 13-3, to sweep the series. You know, just like they swept FSU and LSU. Oh yeah, we swept UGA too, but that's nothing to really brag about.

Aggies take the weekend series from LSU winning today 4 to 3. Not many runs scored this weekend in three one run games. Tigers drop 1 1/2 games behind the leader in the SEC west.
Oh RR, what about those Rebs.

we still are average, what about us? the west is weak. we missed the hard teams from the east, so we have an inflated record. we should host a regional, that is a little above average i guess, but we will not make omaha which is really all that matters

They have an outstanding hitting team. If the LSU pitching and the Ole Miss hitting were combined - a very excellent team it would be.

It appears there are some lingering effects from a "May the 4th be with you" celebration on this thread.

Aaron Nola pitches a 4 hit shutout gem in his final regular season appearance defeating Bama 2 to 0. Nola had 9 SO's while walking none. They play Bama again tonight in the second game of the double header today.

Big night for the Tigers.
From Dandy Don's website:
Now turning to baseball, I sure hope you were able to watch last night’s game as there was a lot of history made during LSU’s 27-0 routing of Northwestern State. Not only was the margin of victory the greatest in the history of LSU baseball (which started in 1893), it was also LSU’s first-ever combined no-hitter. Five LSU pitchers - Jared Poché, Kyle Bouman, Nate Fury, Kurt McCune and Joe Broussard – saw action in the game and faced only two batters beyond the minimum. The shutout also extended LSU’s record for shutouts in a single season to 15.
LSU’s bats were smoking hot as the Tigers erupted for 23 hits with five home runs. What makes those numbers even more remarkable is that they occurred in only six innings of play, as the game was stopped in the bottom of the sixth due to lightening in the area. Tyler Moore and Alex Bregman each had two home runs including a grand slam, and each ended with eight RBI, which is one short of the school record for RBI in a single game. The other home run came from Kramer Robertson (his first as a Tiger). Nine different Tigers drove in runs and 12 recorded hits.

LSU Tigers start the final SEC baseball series with a bang as they defeat the Auburn Tigers 10 to 0. The Tigers have scored 37 runs in the last two games and have recorded two shutouts. Let's see if they can keep the hitting up. If the bats have come alive, LSU could surprise some teams.

LSU sweeps the last regular SEC series from Auburn to jump from 5th in the conference to 3rd and end up as the third seed. They get a first round bye, along with Ole Miss, Florida, and I think Miss State.
SEC tourney starts next week.

Three seeds lose. Florida, Ole Miss and South Carolina. Only LSU, the third seed wins. It is going to be a wild tourney. But it is double elimination until the bracket finals and then the championship game.

LSU defeats Arkansas to move into the SEC semi finals. They will play the winner of the Ole Miss - Arkansas game. Different format this year as the semi finals will be a winner take all - moving into the finals. The finals will be a single game also. Tigers are playing pretty well right now as the hitting has come around. And at the right time.

Ole Miss (41-17) faces Arkansas or LSU Friday at 3 p.m., and it could be the leader for the final top-eight seed when the first pitch is thrown. The Rebels' RPI jumped from 15 to 10 following the win over the top 10 Commodores. That coupled with South Carolina's exit from the SEC Tournament should give the Rebels optimism.
Carolina was outscored 19-2 in the two games.
"These last two days they didn't do much to make you proud and maybe I didn't have them prepared," South Carolina coach Chad Holbrook said. "But we'll go back to Columbia and start to prepare for next week and see what happened on Sunday night and Monday; those things our out of our control.
"I felt like it was a very important game because we were playing a team with a very high RPI and a team that won the regular season."
Vanderbilt has likely been elimination from national seed contention, and LSU isn't likely to move higher than one of the final regional host sites, no matter who the Tigers finish the tournament.
"Right now just doing better than South Carolina is a big step," Baseball America's Aaron Fitt said. "It's not that simple, but it seems to be a lot of it."
Following Thursday's games for both teams, here are the respective resumes. South Carolina won two of three against Ole Miss in Columbia, S.C. The Rebels had the Gamecocks down to their final strike twice in the middle game but lost in extra innings.
RPI: UM - 10, SC - 13 Nonconference record: UM 21-5, SC - 24-2 SEC record: UM - 19-11, SC - 18-12 Road: UM - 15-7, SC - 8-9 SOS: UM - 16, SC 32 Vs. top 50: UM - 15-12, SC - 15-11 Vs. top 100: UM - 24-15, SC - 20-14 Nonconference RPI: UM - 23, SC - 5 Last 10: UM 6-4, SC 7-3
Perfect Game national writer Kendall Rogers had South Carolina in as the eighth national seed on Thursday morning but said on Twitter he'll move Ole Miss back to that spot following the day's events in Hoover.
Fitt said South Carolina loss, "was big blow to national seed hopes, leaning toward Ole Miss now."
The SEC is the No. 1 RPI conference.
