My Blue Jays are on a helluva run. 32-22...first in the East...and they look to have the styling power early.swept Oakland, Boston, and now Tampa over the last nine. Pitching has been stellar....injury bug bit early but seems to have left...and our run production is amazing...bats are really explosive. Encarnacion for MVP?
How is your team doing? Pirates, Indians, and Cubs fans need not respond...pathetic as usual...

Braves suck. Pitching has been excellent despite the injuries to Medlen and Beachy...but the hitting is a disaster. Dan Ugla busts his butt like few in MLB. But he clearly has lost it and cannot do the job despite his pay check. B.J. Upton only slightly better. Fortunately the NL East sucks.

Brewers have been a surprise mainly because their pitching has been superb. Can't really complain how they've done so far either with all of their injuries. Assuming they are able to actually stay healthy no reason they shouldn't get close to 90 wins at least.

Basically BJ Upton cost the Braves the game last night. Not the first time the lazy bum has done such. His defense had been grossly overrated before he came to Atlanta and it is telling now. Frank Wren has done a pretty good job as GM, but the pick ups of Dan Uggla and B.J. Upton have been failures of monumental proportions. And more and more are starting to really question the managing around here. Rollie Fingers and Goose Gossage each had more than 150 saves of more than one inning. Last night, just like in last year's final game against the Dodgers, Craig Kimbrell was held out until the 9th. Doesn't do much good if you lose the game in the 8th. He was a bit rusty last night after sitting the last 6 games. Very frustrating watching this team and its hitting woes while the starting pitching has been lights out. And the sloppy fielding and lazy attitude of guys like B.J. are just too much to watch. Typical Atlanta pro sports.

Bottom of the 8th. Braves have given up two runs to the Marlins and the Fish have runners at 1st and 2d. Miami has scored two, all after two outs. Freddie Gonzalez elects to bring in a youngster, Jay Simmons, who just got called up from AA Mississippi to face Salty. He strikes him out and it works out ok, at least so far. But my goodness, not sure that is how I want to have my rookie come up to the bigs. I worry about the impact if he had given up a hit.

Cleveland has a better home record than Toronto. They just can't do shit on the road. Even so, only a game and a half separates them from second place in the division.
