Bayern Munich defeated Moscow 1-0 in the Russian Capital Tuesday night. There were no fans allowed in the stadium. Moscow fans have demonstrated racism toward visiting players to the point that UEFA has forced the Russian team to play in an empty stadium. Talk about a strange atmosphere...or really, no atmosphere.
In an upset, Paris Ste Germaine beat Barcelona 3-2 in Paris and leads that group. Other groups going pretty much according to plan.

Too bad Ludogorets couldn't hold on against Real, I think Benzema probably got away with a foul to set up that last goal.

I don't understand how Dortmund has been so good in the Champions League, but they also look like arguably the worst team in the Bundesliga.

I don't understand how Dortmund has been so good in the Champions League, but they also look like arguably the worst team in the Bundesliga. For sure. It is a strange situation. I expect Borussia will climb back toward the middle of the standings though. Bayern is running away with the Bundesliga again. I still think that hurt them last year in the late Champions League rounds

Gotta hand it to Moscow for making it pretty damn hard for Man Citeh to even qualify for the knockout stage at this point.

Arsenal played much better today to book their place in the last 16. Unfortunately, they'll likely finish second, meaning they'll probably play Bayern or Real Madrid in the next round. Yech.
Looks like there should be quite a few interesting matchups in the final group stage round. Barcelona-PSG, Liverpool-Basel, Roma-Man City, and Monaco-Zenit all have implications for both teams.

Round of 16 draw:
PSG vs. Chelsea Arsenal vs. Monaco Manchester City vs. Barcelona Schalke vs. Real Madrid Shakthar Donetsk vs. Bayern Munich Juventus vs. Borussia Dortmund Basel vs. Porto Bayer Leverkusen vs. Atletico Madrid
I'm quite pleased with Arsenal's draw; if healthy, I think they have a good chance of advancing. The PSG-Chelsea and City-Barca fixtures should be fun watches.
