Ironically, the freshman that played the best for the Vols has switched positions since this thread was started. Jennings was the Vols leading WR on Saturday, but was a QB prior to this. He looked pretty good out there.

19 freshmen played for UGA yesterday. Vols had 15, which is crazy considering 19 freshman made starts at one point or another last year. Still very young.

How many years will the young card be played Just messing. That is a lot to play in back to back years. The question is with so many young guys playing do you think this is the season so many are predicting yall to break through or is it a year away?

I think strides will be made. I don't think this is the year we challenge for the East, but next year for sure. The O Line will be set for last year. I don't doubt that Kamara leaves after this season, but Hurd will still be here. We are good at the WR position and QB position. The D should be as good , if not better than this year, unless Cam leaves early, which is possible. I am rooting for Hargraves to have a big year, as the further down the list Cam is, the better the chance he stays.

Last year mine were Artavis Scott and Makenzie Alexander...this year Clemson will need a few more to step up DT Christian Wilkins is a freak athlete. 305 pounds and was doing round off back hand springs this summer. The former 5 star kid has been killing it in practice and with Reader in a leave of absence look for him to battle for the starting nod sooner than later. Some inside clemson say he is the most athletic DL since the Fridge. That's some expectations... OT mitch Hyatt has earned the starting LT role with Battle being forced exited. He better grow up fast WR/RB Ray Ray McCloud...he wont be needed with depth but he will not be able to be held off the field. Coaches have been more than impressed with how quick he has learned play book. He will likely have packages designed to use his skill set One of the DE between Ferrell and Bryant will be needed in a depth role. My guess was Ferrell until a broken hand but Bryant seems likely as he was an early enroll I will say this...Christian Wilkins is going to be a freshman all American. That's my prediction Saturday follow up: RayRay lead Clemson WR with 8 catches for 80 yards Wilkins was a beast and while he only had 2 tackles and 1 TFL he was disruptive and constantly in the back field. Talk about never giving up on a play...he was always chasing down plays on opposite side of the field. Very impressed with his motor Mitch Hyatt looked like a veteran and very crisp. His technique and ability to get to the second level is already better than anything I ever saw from Battle's lazy ass. He will make freshman mistakes but at least he finishes his blocks and doesnt stand around Bryant looked good but also looked to be thinking instead of playing at time. The triple option will do that but overall you could see the talent Deon Cain looked good and has to grow up fast with Williams going down. Garrett Williams at TE had a very good game blocking and was listed as Co-Starter. Talk about someone who has jumped a lot of people on a crowded depth chart
