Ole Miss defeats the Tigers 19 to 15 in 10 innings in a wild and wooly game. Thirty four runs and 45 hits. Not much pitching.

Tigers take it on the nose in a midweek game with La. Tech 12 to 1. I can understand the pitching woes as the Tigers have had a lot of injuries to the pitching staff and several are still on the shelve. But they can't seem to hit in these midweek games.

Hogs crush the Tigers 14 to 4 to win the first game of the SEC weekend series. LSU which was rated so high at the start of the season, was based upon the strength of the pitching staff. Injuries have taken their toll, but LSU has given up 45 runs in their last three games. Ole Miss got 19 runs, La Tech scored 12 and add the Hogs 14, equals 45.
The pitching woes continue.

I haven't been posting much on the Gators' baseball success, as they haven't been having much success. They were swept by the nut-lickers last week, which did sting a little bit. However, they did beat Tennessee last night with a big, late comeback. Young team, very young pitching, but still a great coach running the program.

Tiger avoid a sweep with a three run homer in the eighth to win 3 to 2. A loss would have been a coffin nail for LSU's post season hopes. Hope is still alive - if arms get well.

UCLA sweeps WSU to run the record to 41-8. Crazy thing is that as good as they have been, they are in a 3 way tie for the P12 lead with UCLA, Stanford and Oregon State all at 19-5.

Tiger get a rare mid week win over New Orleans 7 to 5. LSU had lost three out of their last four mid week games. The Tigers are getting closer to getting back some of the injured pitchers. Especially Jared Hill and Cole Henry.

UCLA beat Irvine last night in their last mid week game of the season. With the win they are 11-0 in mid week games, and still have not lost a weekend series, with 2 more to play. Did you ever see a game at Jackie Robinson stadium? As successful as UCLA has been in baseball, do you think they will enlarge the seating capacity? Or do they have a problem filling the current capacity as most college programs have? College baseball has become more of a fan favorite lately, but it has been a sport not drawing many fans to games. And will the NCAA finally expand the number of scholarships allowed to college baseball teams.

LSU defeats Auburn 7 to 1 behind a very good outing for Eric Walker to the first game of the SEC weekend series. The Tigers need Eric as they move toward the SEC tourney and the NCAA playoffs.

LSU wins the weekend series from Auburn winning tonight 5 to 1 on another very good outing by freshman Marceaux - two hits and 1 run in 7 innings. Zack Hess came on to close it out. Bayou Bengals rounding into shape with two good pitching performances this weekend - just what the doctor ordered. If Cole Henry comes back as good as he was before being injured - LSU could be a dark horse heading into post season play. This is the Tigers time of the year.

Auburn score two runs in the bottom of the llth to avoid the sweep today defeating LSU 5 to 4. Zach Hess gave up a two run homer in the top of the ninth to allow Auburn to tie the game at 4 to 4.

The problem with JRS is that UCLA does not own it. It is actually owned by the VA, and it sits on VA property. A few years ago there was a lawsuit arguing that UCLA should not be allowed to use the field as it did not benefit veterans. The suit was settled, and UCLA may continue to use the stadium, but I think expansion would be hard to pull off. The stadium only seats 1,820. I think they average around 1,000 per game

Wow, after losing to Miss State in 17 innings this morning - the beat Auburn in a very odd way. I have never seen anything like it, maybe one run but not two runs.
Bottom of the ninth they are behind 3 to 2 - LSU has runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. New pitcher in game, pinch hitter - first pitch in the dirt and bounces in front of the catcher. He doesn't know where the ball is and is looking around, kicks the ball about 15 feet to the right of the plate. He still doesn't know where the ball is. First baseman gets to the ball and while sliding makes a throw to the plate as the runner on 3rd is coming home. Throw goes wide and the second LSU runner scores and the game is over.
A little league special.
Wow again.

Georgia had another late rally today and defeated the Hogs 3 to 1.
Should be a great game tonight between Vandy and the other Dawg team. Two very good teams, along with Georgia and Arkansas. All four should be host for the super regional games with a top 8 seeding.

After losing to Miss St two nights ago in 17 innings, they 10 run rule Miss State winning 12 to 2 and knock them out of the tourney. They play Vandy tomorrow in the semi finals. The pitching is about deleted though.
