Georgia trails 3-2 in the 5th. Georgia's starting pitcher comes out with thumb nail injury. Not sure he could have continued or not, but as announcers said, these games don't mean anything because health for regionals next week is far more important. Another case of winning a conference title has become a minor deal which is a shame. But it is, what it is.

Another case of winning a conference title has become a minor deal which is a shame. But it is, what it is. Pitching is 75% of the game of baseball. Pitching dominates. And pitchers need rest between starts. Georgia was planning on having two of their prime starters get some work in today's game. Georgia is a top 8 seed whether they win or not. Ole Miss and LSU needed wins to improve their status in the national seeding. LSU has probably secured a regional host position. They didn't have the host position before the SEC tourney.

So you go through unbeaten to the semifinals and a team with one loss wins and you are out. Really, and I thought that the DH was the dumbest thing I have seen in baseball. Not sure how it benefits a team to be in winner's bracket.

Not sure how it benefits a team to be in winner's bracket. It use to be a double elimination, but the schedule has been tweaked. I believe this is the first year that the semi-finals started the single game. This helps the teams have rested pitchers for the regional s that start next weekend. And rain has been a big threat in the SEC tourney that delayed the playing of games. No rain this year though.

Had to cancel my trip. I didn't realize that my grandson was sick last week with stripe throat and the flu. I sure don't want to head to Baton Rouge and he have a relapse.
So I will have to watch them on TV.
Tigers face Stony Brook on Friday. Stony Brook defeated the Tigers in an Alex Box Super Regional a few years ago. Will see how it goes this time.

WVU hosting their first regional in a generation. I'm taking Colin to the game on Saturday. Which will be the biggest baseball game in school history. I'm pumped.

Not sure what is worse, the Blues getting hammered in St. Louis or the Dawgs getting scalped in Athens. Noles determined to send Mike Martin out a winner.

LSU defeats Southern Miss 6 to 4 to advance to the Super Regional's. They will now host as Georgia was upset by FSU. Thanks Dawgs.
LSU pitching looked as good as it has this season and bats are awake. The Tigers are playing pretty good ball right now. Good chance to advance to the CWS. But FSU is on a mission as this is Mike Martin's last season. He has the most wins in college baseball history. But has never won a CWS although FSU has been 16 times under his leadership.
Tigers will have their hands full with FSU.

The most surprising stat I heard this weekend about FSU/Mike Martin as this is his 40th season as Head Corch. He has won at least 40 games in every season. To me, that's amazing. Just above 0fer 16 at Omaha.
