The biggest thing Les has probably learned this year is that booster events aren't like Vegas. What is said there, seldom stays there.
I guess he didn't have rivals the degree that he now has at LSU during his prior days and it didn't matter what you said. No one was paying attention.

Hell Load, she's wide ass awake calling everyone she knows to tell them about her day. She's so fired up right now we may not see the bedroom till 1 AM. I was really strange being at an empty Tiger Stadium and no paint on the field either but still pretty cool.

I agree Sadovin. The first time he got jumped was because he said "Fucking Alabama". That was at an LSU event for LSU and their fans. The second time was for the Pac-10 comments. That was at a booster meeting for LSU. Another LSU event for LSU and their fans. I think he's learning not to trust anyone with his comments at LSU or anywhere else for that matter. I do some posting on an LSU board and I can tell you the hardcore LSU football fans are his worse critics. They are ruthless! You guys on the National boards have been very friendly compared to them.

To me it's like when you're out drinking with the guys and you yell out, "Women Suck!". You don't really mean you never want to have sex (with a woman) again, you're just catering to the audience. We all talk bluff and bluster when the subject's not in the room, but we'd prefer it didn't leave the room and its context.

Exactly Sadovin! My wife told me he was being grilled by the women about his Pac-10 comments, Ryan Perriloux and the upcoming season in general. She said when the questions started flying he said "I thought you were all going to ask me questions about uniform colors, how I like LSU and B.R.. I wasn't expecting to be asked the same questions I've been answering all day". The wife said the women showed no mercy and that he spoke for a little over an hour.

Well I don't know about having a stiffy but I have to admit I was a little "star struck". I mean I live for CFB and to me LSU football is up there right next God, family & sex. So to be having a conversation with the head coach of LSU (and most talked about coach in CFB right now) I was a little in awe. I have been happy with Les since he's been at LSU and have always thought he's doing a great job.....so far.

All I can say is I wish I had a wife who showed the love for CFB as yours does. I can't even get my wife to watch a PSU game with me.

LOL! I will say, I consider myself to be a hardcore LSU fan. I am definitely not the casual fan.
But my wife! She is a fucking fanatic! She is like the factboy of LSU. She will smoke my ass when talking team or individual stats. It gets kinda freaky when your wife tells you "you don't know shit boy, let me tell you how it really is". I consider myself fortunate to have a wife who loves the sport I love though.

Yeah, rub it in. I got the shopping type of wife. There are times she gives me the guilt trip on Saturdays when I am watching football and she asks me to take her shopping. "Uh, hello. Football is on right now." "You never wanna spend time with me on the weekends!"
Guess that is the one problem with moving in the military, none of her best friends are here so I can't send her with them for the day.

I listened to this interview and thought this moderator was a complete idiot. At one point trying to act like Don King. Flat out Fucking Liar. The Baton Rouge and LSU news totally busted Nick in this lie this morning. I think Nick is the one with issues. Hey Load!!!!! Miles, Miles, Miles, Miles!!!! If Miles didn't want to be asked about it, then he shouldn't have shouted it at a public podium in front of several thousand people. I love how you are calling the member of the press out for ya'll's Low-rent Coach's actons.

bama112, why does Brandon Cox and Quentin Groves have to answer questions about Nick Saban? They didn't call him out....

I'm sure I don't know on that one my friend. I think that the press has acted like a bunch of contrary schoolgirls who love to gossip amidst the Media Days. They get all pissy b/c Saban doesn't give em much access during regular times; so, they act like crazed idiots when they have acces to everyone during Media Days. Pretty freaking ridiculous. Also think that the fact that more than just the usual beat writers (who have at least some rapport with the Coaches) are there causes more dumb questions to be asked by the writers who don't know their butt from a laptop computer.

Nice Bama but let me set you straight on a couple things. 1. Les made the statement about Bama at the Bayou Bash. A recruiting event for LSU, supporters, fans and players and I don't see anything wrong with getting everyone all fired up. Which it did and the crowd went nuts. By the way, that comment is old news. 2. Low class is a reporter asking Les who would win in a fight. Les did ignore that stupid comment. 3. The reporter is the one who kept going back to Saban questions. We don't want to hear that crap, we want to hear about this season. 4. Last, I would rather deal with a man that lets you know exactly how he feels about something than I would a bold face liar. Saban is the biggest liar in sports and the news the other day is proof it still continues. Please help me somebody, the whole state of Louisiana is picking on me! WAAAAAAA! So you can call him low rent for speaking his mind but I would rather have low rent instead of a cry baby bullshit artist.

Yes, because it's not low rent (whatever) to go dropping the f-bomb at a recruiting event before thousands of men, women & children as the ambassador of the school for whom you Coach. Whatever man. Spin it as you deem necessary.

I'm not holding Saban out to be the shining example of all godly qualities; I'm simply calling it like I see it with lsuknut's jaded logic.

It's not jaded logic to support your coach and I by no means agree with everything he says or does. But Les is no different than us. Have you ever said something inappropriate at an inappropriate time? I think most of us have. Les does stick his foot in his mouth from time to time but he is far from low rent. He's honest, genuine and approachable and 100 times more of a fans coach than Nick ever was. He's also 22 - 4 and that right there is what matters most to me.

I try not to drop the f-bomb in front of little kids who look up to me. I also have never been a CEO of a company or an ambassador for an entire University at a university-oriented event and said such crass things. That's the offensive part that you're failing to grasp. He's not everyman; he's a representative for an enire university and an entire state for that matter (since its the State's University).

So because he's a representative for LSU (because I don't know about that entire state statement) he can't make mistakes? He's not the Chancellor of LSU, he's the fucking football coach. He doesn't lead the debate team, he's teaches guys to knock each others heads off. Everyone outside of LSU hangs on his every word like he's Billy Graham or something. Trust me, your coach would be eating words every day but he refuses to meet with the media other than 15 times a year and as far as doing things for the Bama fans....Ha fricken Ha! Don't hold your breathe.

No dog in this fight, but can someone set me straight on this tidbit of info? From what I understand even his coaches and support staff have a little fear of their boss(Saban) when it concerns alternative lines of thought when compared to his. It is, "his way or no way, and see you later if you disagree.", any truth to this? Yes, I know I am not presenting many facts, but I hear working for him is not "fun" at all, and no, I am not saying it is suppose to be unlimited drinking, strippers and golf outings kinda fun, I think you get what I am trying to say.

I'm not picking a side here on the overall debate, but I tend to agree that dropping the F bomb in front of a bunch of children that hang on your every word is a mistake.
Also, I have great respect for both programs, but sometimes I wonder why LSU fans are so angry about Saban's return. I doubt many of you are Miami Dolphin fans, so why do you care that he lied to them? Regardless, I'm glad that there seems to be a heated rivalry developing in the West.

ATL, LSU fans could give a rats ass about Saban. It's the media, Bama fans and Nick himself that have dragged this issue through the mud from one side of the country to the other. So What!
We don't need Bama fans telling us how good the pussy is when we've already slept with the nasty bitch!
There is nothing left at LSU that is representative of Nick. The majority of LSU fans are happy with Les and 99.9% would rather he be there than Saban. We have moved on and we wish everyone else would as well.
And I totally agree that dropping the F - Bomb in front of a bunch of little kids is inappropriate but it was a mistake he made and he took a lot of shit for it. But it makes him no less of a man or a coach.

The only thing I disagree with is his idea that Mississippi State will be a tough test and they hafta get started early. PC stuff like this needs to stop. Maybe those Missy State kids would toughen up if he said the truth...
"Well, we have a favorable schedule, with most of our tough teams @ home. We open up against Mississippi State, so that's nice. They're terrible, and we all know it. Always like a cheap breather game to start just to see where the team is. It's even better when that sorry ass team is a conference game, so we don't hafta hear the bitching about playing some directional school from Timbucktoo. I wish the best to Sly Croom this year, but seriously, he's no better a coach than Mike Shula."

Zing!
Can MSU afford a top level coach in the current market? They've been competitive before, but that was under a different coach and before the coaching salary market spiked. It's hard for the small state schools to compete for the better coaches these days.

Let's just open up a can of worms, shall we? Yes. When MSU fires Croom for doing too shitty a job...and yes, that's what he's currently doing...will they be torched b/c Croom is black? I said when they hired him "he better produce, b/c if he doesn't it's one of those deals that will be tough to get out of."
Hell, Missy State was a good program in the 90s. Sherril wasn't the most outstanding person to listen to talk, but they won. It's more about getting kids to go to Starkville, MS. Which, if you happen by there you happen to see...well, not much.

Yeah, this isn't Ty Willingham. Willy (though not that great of a coach, ND clearly saw this AFTER they hired him) didn't even get to see his first class blossom to seniors. Weis did fairly well with those kids. The argument was that Ty couldn't recruit. Well, some of those kids turned out to be pretty damned good. This isn't that. Sly Croom might be a nice guy, but he's a shitty game planner and calls plays like he has a berenstein bears book in one hand, and a 2 page playbook in the other.
On a side note, shouldn't something called the rainbow coalition be concerned with fag rights or some BS of that nature?
