Since there are a lot of Georgia fucktards...I mean fans on here I figured I would drop this that I put together for nect seasons game and see if you all had anything to add on UGA side of things and let me know if I left anything out
Clemson Offense:
Offensive Line
-4 returning offensive lineman: Bockhorst, McFadden, Stewart, Putnam. Parks will step into the starting LT role. They could shake this up some by moving McFadden inside if Leigh is out of the bag ready. This will be the deepest OL Clemson has had in a while. They need to improve running game. That goes for play calling and blocking.Clemson needs to commit to playing the best 5 players across the line which they did not do this season
-All tight ends return and they add stud TE Briningstool who I think can be hell on defenses like Pitts was at Florida and Leggett was at Clemson. Tony Elliott moves over to start coaching TE as Danny Pearman goes to an off the field role. Galloway and Davis are both mismatch capable and need to be more heavily involved in game planning. Maybe with Tony coaching them he won't forget they are out on the field and available in the pass game
QB
- DJU has already proven what he can do and that was with the coaches not utilizing his legs which are dangerous as well. As of now Pho is still on the roster and expected to back him up. Many felt he was transferring
RB
- CJ Spiller...welcome back! Spiller will take over coaching returners Dixon, Pace, Mellusi and Rencher who will battle incoming freshmen early enrolls Mafah and Shipley this spring to replace ETN. Talented ass group of backs and my most curious spring competition. My guess is Dixon will get the start against Georgia as the most veteran. Ran really hard towards the end of the year after battling some injuries early. Pace and Mafah are my guess to give him the most challenge as the season goes on with Shipley having the ability to come in and do some different things from RB and slot
WR
-Another interesting spring battle...where does everyone land. News of Ross coming back is huge...You return Ngata and Ladson from injuries and still have Williams who was really putting it together at the end of the season. Williams reminds me a lot of Higgins with his smooth routes and body control but like Higgins he needs a good offseason in weight room. Ross can play any of the 3 positions but I think I may like him at the spot Rodgers vacates because it moves him all over the field and gets him in mismatches. Williams or Ngata at the 9 position, Ladson at the 5 where Powell was late in season, and Ross at the 2. But honestly those can be moved around. Maybe Ladson at the 2 and Ross at the 5 since Ladson has a little more speed...either way this is a group of receivers with speed, talent, and are all 6'3 or bigger. Pair that with their big, athletic TE and DJU has to be salivating. Spector comes off the bench to provide them with a change of pace slot guy, Ajou Ajou is a guy with talent that is still raw but when it clicks he is going to be hell, and you enter 3 more talented freshmen in the 2 Collins and Stellato.
Defense: All 11 starters return but will all 11 starters keep their spot?
DL: The news of XT coming back is huge especially if Foster can also come back from his heath issues. XT will be playing his paycheck year....This, paired with others getting back healthy, will give Clemson the depth it is used to and allow them to rotate and utilize more personnel packages to create creative pressure.
DE: XT/Henry/Mascoll
DE: Murphy/Foster
DT: Bresee/Williams
DT: Davis/Capehart or Orhorhoro
LB: Man, Skalski coming back is one great thing about COVID! And now the Fields hit won't be his last in a Clemson uniform. Now, the big question is going to be who starts. Skalski, Jones Jr, and Spector all return and those were your the starters in the Sugar Bowl but guys like Simpson, Maguire and Bentley bring more upside and showed flashes when on the field. Can Jones Jr. slide back to safety and be a Muse type of player? Can he more over to WILL and let Simpson take over SAM? Again, lots of depth here. And you have versatile athlete Barrett Carter coming in that can play safety or SAM. You also have Venables who is a veteran and knows the defense who will garner snaps at LB as well and Kane Patterson who has some talent...Very deep room that will add incoming high 4 star Trotter into it as well.
CB: Everyone is back with Kendrick announcing he is remaining at Clemson. He had a rough game against OSU so some Clemson fans fuse with him is short with him but the talent is there without question and he is still just 2 years into moving from WR to CB. Then you have the rest of the corner back room also returning with Davis, Jones, Greene, Goodrich, and Williams who all look to be returning. Really talented group here that will be a year older...
S: This big question mark. The entire 2 deep return with Turner, Zanders, Charleston, Thornton, and also Phillips but the safety play was the weakest link outside of Turner who was 2nd team AP AA. Zanders dealt with a torn labrum all year that required surgery so maybe that hindered him but it certainly doesn't explain bad angles and missed assignments. Greene was being utilized at Nickel back some at the end of the season so maybe with the crowded CB room he can make the move. Barrett Carter could be an immediate shot in the arm if he can pick up BV complex scheme. Mickens was a guy they were very excited about that could be added into the conversation.
Key losses: Trevor, Etienne, Carman although Carman is replaced with Parks who may be an upgrade and Trevor is replaced with DJ who won't be an upgrade but a future 1st rounder in his own rights and one of the way too early favorites for the Heisman
