I am in a weather delay at airport in Houston. One thunderstorm and it is over the airport. Crowd - there are a few LSU fans on this flight. But I hear no flights out of NO. I think there will be a lot of Tiger fans. I hope it is 80-20. Anyway have a great weekend and enjoy the Clemson- Dawg game. Geaux Dawgs. best of luck & enjoy it all... Thanks Bil.

Oh yeah - don't remember if I mentioned the masks required for the game - once in the stadium - not many masks being worn - only a handful.
San Diego didn't require all the mask wearing.

And another but - we still have a darn good FG kicker.

And the last point - the crowd at the game was probably above 90% of capacity. LSU's block of tickets in the end zone was packed with Tiger fans. There was a Tiger fans all around where I was sitting, but mostly Bruin fans.
Bruin fans were fired up and so were the Tiger fans until the fourth quarter. LSU still had a chance to win going into the 4th quarter. But that faded away pretty early into the 4th quarter.
So as Buggs Bunny would say, "That's all Folks."

Have you ever been to the Rose Bowl? I have. To the parking lot anyway. Yeah Swan - I wouldn't think this golf course is very good. With all those cars parking all over the place. But they made a ton of money - $30 a vehicle. I couldn't estimate how many vehicles park on it.

I seriously wish people would stop freaking out about this game. ESPN now forecasting UCLA in the Rose. I've seen other's say they are now the favorites in the PAC.
Please, shut up people. Just stop. I still think they lose at least 2, and possibly as many as 4.

We also know UCLA is a very seasoned team. I don't recall the actual numbers but I couldn't believe the amount of 6, 5, & 4 year players in the starting line-up. We know their Running game is Legit! Agree it's too early for these type of predictions but, UCLA has a very good opportunity to have a very good year of they continue playing with the attitude they displayed Sat night.

They also have a 3 game stretch at the end of October that is @ Washington, Oregon, @ Utah. Then they have to play SC. I say they drop at least 2 of those 4.

Well UCLA is about the only Pac12 school to do anything good week 1.
Washington shit the bed.. Oregon nearly lost to Fresno.... Stanford was killed by KSU.... USC was 13-7 in the 4th vs. SJST.....OSU lost to Purdue... Cal lost to NEVADA....Arizona lost to BYU..... WSU lost to Utah St...
I mean.... i really horrible week 1 for the Pac12..... UCLA is the only hope currently for them.
Besides beaing FCS Weber St., Southern Utah, and Northern CO.... nothing good happened besides beat ing LSU

That (2 L's) could very well still win the PAC. As Ghost stated, the conf as a whole, did not set the world on fire, albeit week 1. If not for the ACC, the PAC would be a the bottom looking up. You get Oregon at home and go to Wash (which is very beatable) and Utah (Jury still out) away. The USCw game is a rivalry game where anything can happen.

UCLA is the only hope currently for them. Alright, don't get carried away here. A couple of things: 1) The only REALLY bad loss is Washington's. Arizona and Cal are bad. Stanford was also not expected to be very good this year. Nevada is a pretty good team, as I noted in the preview I wrote and they returned pretty much all their starters, including the #7 (passing yards) qb from 2020. The surprise about the BYU-Arizona game is that it was as close as it was. BYU should have blown them out. Stanford and Oregon State dropped games to P5s on the road. I admit that I thought the Stanford game would be closer, but it's still not that terrible. 2) We know absolutely nothing about Oregon right now. They play tOSU next week. Then we'll know something. Against Fresno, which is also a decent team, they didn't really open the playbook. The only thing we really know is they lost a very good defensive player. 3) USC won by 23. Against a team that went 7-1 last year. Utah and ASU did what they were supposed to. Point is, overreactions are dumb. Both ways.

They *could* win the Pac 12. I am just not counting on it yet, and neither should anyone else. They didn't go from a flawed team expected to finish 4th in the P12 South, to the projected champs just by winning one game. That's all I'm saying.

Gents it is only week 1 or 2 into the season.
I watched the LSU - UCLA game again last night.
LSU didn't play as bad as I thought Saturday night. The LSU defense stills needs the LB's and DB's to communicate to each other on coverage. We had that same problem last year and really never really corrected it. Hopefully the Tigers can do it this year. If not LSU could end up with 6 losses.
The other big thing I took away from the game. UCLA had better game coaching. LSU didn't adjust or not much of an adjustment.
UCLA looks good after two games. But right now we don't know how good they are or how bad LSU is. If LSU is bad - then UCLA is maybe not as good as they look. But if LSU is not as bad as they looked at times - UCLA could be loaded.
But one thing I can tell you - the UCLA fans were fired up Saturday night. They had a sound that sounded like a bell clanging and it would go off on 3rd down attempts by LSU and the crowd would stand and create some crowd noise. I asked the Bruin fan sitting next to me if it was a real bell. He told the winner of the UCLA - USC game had possession of the bell. The bell sound was being piped in over the PA system. But the crowd was fired up for sure. Which they should have been.
I have two complaints about my Rose Bowl Stadium experience: 1) A given, we lost. 2) The seat space was pretty small. Not much room between the seat and the back of the seat in front of you. But that is a million dollar scene - looking out the Rose Bowl and the mountains in the background. And only a few people wearing a mask inside the stadium.
But overall a great experience.
