Houston is facing a lot of rain today and tomorrow. Depends upon where Nicolas makes landfall. Doesn't appear that the wind will make it to a Hurricane status.
It has been raining on and off since early morning - some last night.

Best of luck to you during the storm. Flooding can be horrific.

The storm passed through my area during the night. We lost power a few times during the night. It would go off and then come back on for awhile. They were back on this morning as I finally went to sleep late this morning.
No major damage - the trees in the park across the street from me lost a few branches and there are leaves all over the place.
It looks like a lot of rain is being poured on the SE part of Louisiana that was hit by the major storm a couple of weeks ago. Those poor souls don't need anymore rain for sure. I hope it goes right through without much rain.

The amount of water these storms can carry is amazing, especially when you think about the tonnage of water they drop.

Perhaps, we could put a lot of people to work by building a pipeline from the East to the West to carry all the extra water from these storms out there.

Liberals wouldn't allow it because it would threaten the habitat of a small rodent.

I just walked my neighborhood. We were fortunate that Nicolas didn't develop into a stronger storm. Only damage I could see were some tree branches were blown from trees. It wasn't too severe - largest limbs were about an inch and half in diameter. And really not many of them. And we didn't get as much rain as was predicted. The Houston area dodged a bullet so to speak.
