can anyone that watched Dawgs game on TV tell me about the 'fumble' in the 4th quarter? Didnt seem like a fumble in the stadium and of course instead of showing the play on the jumboTron they decided to show dumbass fans in the stands.
got in the car and listened to a post game show on the way home and no one on that show thought it was a fumble and that he was clearly down. it pissed me off is all

There was no review. Apparently Kirby did not even request it. The score was 40-6 and I suspect that was the reason. In a close game, that would have been really bad as McIntosh was clearly down. But am guessing the score determined the decision. Am very surprised the booth did not even request a review though.

I wanted, along with I'm sure most good Dawg fans, to keep them out of the endzone, especially since earlier in the game we held them on 2 trips in the red zone to field goals. Just because a score is what it is shouldnt determine whether they review something or not. For me, I was pissed. He was clearly down, but what do you expect with SEC refs. You better believe if they made GA punt on third down like they did to Penn State I'd be on the news, close game or not.

But I just don't think anyone cared that much in a blowout. It should have been reviewed and it clearly was a missed call. But three things: Kirby likes Shane Beamer and had no intention of running up the score. Kirby probably felt like asking for a review with a 34 point lead would be unbecoming. Kirby also probably felt that his defense would still hold Carolina out of the endzone. The other possibility was that Kirby assumed that during the TV time out, the replay officials would review it. Remember, the TV crew said that it was going to be reviewed. By the time they came back to play, he probably just said it wasn't worth it. Game was long as it was with all the scoring and a ton of penalties and reviews. Missed call, but also utterly irrelevant to the outcome.

I agree with all that, but bottom line its not to much to ask to get calls right, especially calls that dont seem to be THAT CLOSE. It should have been fairly evident he was down.
