It's a beautiful car but to have a car than can easily go 200mph & 0-60 in under 3 seconds in the States AND spending the amount of money these cars are worth has always been lost me.
Maybe it's because they fall outside of means, but...

Same here…I’m still riding around in my 8 year old lifted Outback that has been through the wars on some hunting trails, although my wife is starting to complain about it on long trips. I’ve never understood the 0-60 or top speed fascination either.

Now I will say that if I had the disposable income, I would probably have a 67 GT500 or a 67 Stingray ragtop.

I have a 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette. It is surprisingly comfortable and roomy for 2 people with luggage. It only goes 168 though, a far cry from the 200 club. Still fast enough to lose a license though. I also have a 2008 Audi A3 that is quite quick and fun to drive. My everyday ride is a MB E350. Quick enough, comfortable enough, and quite roomy.

One of the Titans football players parked his Shelby Ford F-series truck across the street from my house a while back, it was amazing. I had never heard of Shelby doing a truck. I think I posted a picture on FB when I saw it out there.

I’ve never understood the 0-60 or top speed fascination either. What's to understand? It's appreciation of an achievement. No one says you have to justify buying something to appreciate it. I have a harder time understanding marriage for that reason.

I have a harder time understanding marriage for that reason. I think the disconnect is that I look at car features as utilitarian and cars themselves as depreciating assets. So I liken 0-60 times and top speed as assets to a car in the same way that overlanding setups are for people who only drive on pavement or light trails. I guess I’m just not a car guy.

I have a 2002 Ford Ranger with 110,000 miles. Five speed standard transmission. It has been a good little truck.

I get a new vehicle every 3 years and drive a vehicle always under full warranty. What I do is the cheapest way to drive unless you drive in in the ground. I bought a Nissan Rogue last month I'll put gas in it, and have the dealer take care of it. I used to enjoy working on a car but now I don't even try to figure out what the spark plug looks like. I only open the hood to put wiper fluid in, I bought the Nissan and didn't even know anything about the engine. Found out later that it's turbocharged 4 cylinder. I was like any teenage boy and loved working on cars and knew just about all cars on the road until the Japanese cars arrived.

Back in the day one had to change spark plugs and points about every 10,000 miles. Now days they go a lot farther and more electronics than the old days.

My commute was 60 miles a day plus another 20-50 miles a day at work. Plus lots of trips to the lakes. All of which are at least 120 miles round trip and some 300 to 400 miles one way. When the kids were younger we were either at the lake or in the mountains camping every other weekend from Memorial Day to late September.
