I am waiting for someone to sign the contract, put on the hat and then pick up another hat while announcing that he is entering the transfer portal.

KJ Bolden may flip from FSU to the Dawgs. Now that would be plain weird. Raiola supposedly worked his butt off trying to get Bolden to come to Athens with him and now this? My guess is that this is more of the normal signing day rumors that have little real merit.

I used to know what recruits went where. With NIL, what's the point? I have no clue about any of the top recruits, or who has a good class, or not.

I know that recruiting isn't as big a deal before all the NIL and Transfer Portal stuff. I might be wrong, but I still think that a strong recruiting class is probably the glue and foundation of most programs even in this day. We see the big name success stories in the transfer portal like Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix and Michael Penix, but I wonder how many have been failures/disappointments? I know it is an over used narrative, but balancing locker room culture is always a challenge and even more so these days.

On that note UGA has received signatures from 26 of the 27 recruits today which pretty much wraps up the class. This will allow Kirby and staff the focus on the Orange Bowl and the 25 class going forward.

The Dawgs flip KJ Bolden, guarantees the #1 class on 247 rankings. GT asked about surprises, that would qualify. Still odd that his teammate at Buford kept trying to get him to come to Athens and when that teammate flips, Bolden flips to Georgia. Am a bit shocked by that. Maybe Carson Beck's returning? Maybe freed up NIL monies from Raiola. Who knows, but this would definitely be a big surprise.

Rusty Mansell was saying that KJ talks to Kirby almost everyday and the fact that Kirby tracked down Downs the Bama CB after the Bama game really impressed him. He also said an family member really wanted him at UGA.

The uncertainty with Napier does not help them. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy when the fan base appears to believe that Napier is a dead man walking and with an absolutely killer schedule facing them next year. As unfair as it might have been to fire Napier after only two years and being preceded by a guy who didn't think recruiting was important, maybe it would have been the smart thing to do. Hard to imagine this not further setting back the program. It is not helped by the addition of Texas and OU and the disbanding of the eastern division.

Colorado only signed 5 HS kids today. The #1 OT, Jordan Seaton verbally committed but did not sign today. Most seems to think he signs with Maryland.
They have 16 Portal transfers, 9 of which only have 1 year of eligibility left.
Can someone explain to me like Im 5 years old how this plan is sustainable. I know Corch Prime is comin' but is he really comin'?

Dan Mullen chimes in on Florida recruiting amid rough Early Signing Day Andrew Olson | 20 minutes ago
Dan Mullen has a complicated relationship with Florida after being fired as the coach of the Gators in 2021. As a current ESPN analyst he frequently shares his thoughts on how his former team looks on the field. Wednesday, Mullen waded into the recruiting discussion.
Mullen’s much-maligned recruiting efforts were frequently cited when Florida made a coaching change. Billy Napier had some ups-and-downs assembling his third Florida recruiting class on Wednesday’s Early Signing Day. Mullen had an interesting response to a tweet showing how the recruiting rankings compare for the two coaches.
Radio host Marc Ryan noted that despite the coaches’ reputations, Mullen’s classes are ranked higher on average. The social media post got the attention of Mullen, who added that Florida’s facilities have gotten better under Napier. The $85 million Heavener Center opened in August 2022, roughly 9 months after Mullen’s firing.
Marc Ryan @marcryanonair Dan Mullen (reputation: doesn't like to recruit)
vs.
Billy Napier (reputation: recruiting whiz kid)
Dan Mullen: 2018: #14 class 2019: #9 2020: #9 2021: #12 AVERAGE CLASS: #11
Billy Napier: 2022: #18 2023: #13 2024: #15 AVERAGE CLASS: #15
No further questions. #Gators 5:16 PM · Dec 20, 2023 · 22
Dan Mullen @coachdanmullen I wish I had the facilities they have now. 6:20 PM · Dec 20, 2023 · 311.5K Views
Mullen’s critics would be quick to note that he had multiple commitments fail to ever suit up for the Gators for various reasons. The product on the field in 2021 showed that the Mullen staff had not successfully recruited and developed a competitive SEC roster. A common assessment of the 2021 season was that the Gators were struggling without players who had been recruited by Jim McElwain, especially Kyle Trask, Kyle Pitts and Kadarius Toney.
While Mullen noted Florida’s improved facilities, many recruiting observers would say NIL has overtaken facilities’ importance in landing the top prospects. NIL was introduced in 2021, Mullen’s final year, but it’s safe to say Napier is dealing with a completely different landscape than his predecessor.
Gator Nation hopes that Napier proves to be a better evaluator of talent than Mullen and has teams that outperform their recruiting rankings. On the field, Florida has taken a big step back, going only 11-14 in the first 2 seasons under Napier, which has led to some hot seat chatter. Mullen posted a 21-5 record in his first 2 seasons at Florida.

is anyone else NOT excited about how NSD has really just become who has more money? I firmly believe Georgia was able to pick up all those high stars right after all the Ravioli money got freed up. These are really sad times for college football, I am glad Georgia won a Natty before conference realignment, portal changes and playoff expansion. I will watch and root for Georgia to win on Saturdays, but college football doesnt mean the same thing to me that it used to, and that sucks. Anyways, if you'll need me I'll be on the couch as a Chicago Bears fan not giving two shits if they win or lose. Much less stress

Juco WR, Deion Smith showed up to Ole Miss to sign his LOI in a Lambo So my question about this is “Is Ole Miss dolling out Lambos or did this kid parlay his $40k into a $400k car?” If the latter, he’ll be in the transfer portal tomorrow to make next month’s payment. 🤦♂️😂

I guess if QBs are going for multi millions, wide receivers should probably expect 500 grand. Might need the transfer portal to pay for the gas and first tune up though.
