Kansas let the Zags by 1 at the half. They have been outscored 37-9 in the second half at this point. A great game turned into a disaster.

I did not get my bracket in. Sorry I missed this one. Did get one in the pool for LeBonheur (the children’s hospital locally where Will receives his maintenance care) and am currently tied for second with all of my Final 4 alive.
Ok SEC folks (and Dvadi), I now fully understand the disdain for 8&4. Not only are they completely pedestrian and yet feel entitled, on top these yell leaders or whatever these most annoying college age dudes imaginable who lead an even more annoying series of chants are called are even more insufferable. Had tix in Memphis this weekend and yes their fans especially the students that made the trek were annoying as fuck.
Normally, not a “get off my yard guy”, but those jackasses will drive you to the brink.
All that said, after a site that had an average margin of 25 pts in the four games on, Friday we were treated to two pretty solid games (at least fun endings) yesterday. Not quite what PittND experienced on Sat in Pittsburgh, but an adequate second place to that.

The Oregon/Creighton and 8&4/Houston games were worth the price of admission. I dont think Ive ever seen a game where 4 of the 5 starters fouled out.

funny how all the talk this morning and lat night during the Houston/Aggie (and) Grand Canyon NC State game were about "how the game is called'.
Its the SAME thing i said after the TTU/Houston game and i got laughed at and trolled.
This morning on Full Ride XM Rick and Chris were talking about exactly how "you could call a foul on UH every play...... but you just can't'".... funny i said the same thing. When teams are allowed to be physical and foul its and advantage vs. a smaller team that is coached to avoid foul trouble. But you just gotta adjust. Both of those games were insanity..... never seen so many bodies on the floor... concussions... etc...
Quote: "ow a game is called direcly impacts the outcome".... thats what i have said for years.... but these guys get paid to do it so i guess people listen...

Dude, you realize 4 Houston starters foul out. They had a walk on come in and hit a key Free Throw in the 2nd overtime. Good Teams overcome. Bad teams lose and bitch about the refs. you are missing the point. they should ahve had all the players foul out the way the game was played. at the half the Cbs desk guys said "they called 21fouls....they should have called 42"..... barely said the game was out of hand but the officials were forced to allow the game to continue since both sides were fouling so much. Some games are called that way... when its both ways, its a bloodbath and evens out in the end.... when its just one team playing that way and the other trying not to foul, it looks horrible and lopsided... i said it was Techs fault for not adjusting, but they just didn't have the style or size to play that kind of ball.... when a game is called tight, it changes the game. This morning they talked about how important its going to be if the "refs call a tight game, it helps Duke".... and thats the point. No one can honestly argue that there were not some massive moments in games yesterday were bodies were hitting the floor and whistles were silent.. And some games like KU's first game were they were gifted a call on a clear block. Right games and loose games happen... but to deny they effect outcomes is just being stupid. I have said if ro years on the football side.... TTU has never been good enough to overcome bad calls. good/great teams overcome the next play or the next..... some teams just rely on breaks and when mistakes are made it can kill a average team trying to beat a better team. but in basketball, calls lead to points at eh line... players being ejected, etc... not like in any other sport. how a came is called is pivotal and this idea was conveyed over and over again by the announcers, analyst and crew on every broadcast. Not saying "its rigged".... saying its a crapshoot on calls and its frustrating.

It was both ways. Both teams played a very physical game. 8&4 had 2 guys foul out and a few others with 4 fouls when the game ended
It was a physical game, no doubt. I doubt you will find one 8&4 yell leader blame that loss on the refs. Hell, at one point in the 2nd OT, Hou was up 15 with walk on on the floor. Houston was the better team, even though 7&5 gave them more than they wanted to chew.
I continue to care less what those talking heads at CBS Halftime state. Their job is to be jaded, contrarian, and create additional drama.

It was amazing to watch the arena begin to empty out with about 4 min left and 8&4 down by 12. I said to my parents, I think this might be like the Baylor game and get close at the end so we stayed. Then with one second left, Houston does the one thing that you can’t do and that’s let’s someone get off a 3, let alone an uncontested 3. And yes, cultish is definitely a way to describe 8&4.

Houston plays an extremely aggressive style of defense and use their hands a ton. Easy to get in foul trouble. On top of that, 8&4 drove he ball to the basket on nearly every possession which they should have done. If that had gone to a second OT t Houston would have been fucked. Secondly 8&4 played zone the entire game and for the first 3/4 of it, Houston was content to shoot 3s. it wasnt til the last 10 min when they built the lead up because they started taking the ball to tbe basket. If 8&4 would have hit 75% or their FT they win the game in regulation. At one point they were 48% from Ft and 38% from 3. Like you said, the better team won.

8&4, 1000% lost that game at the foul line last night. They had an overwhelming advantage at getting to the line (deservedly so) and they didn’t convert enough. Completely on them. Just like at one point Baylor missed 4 straight front ends or 1&1s. Nobody ever wants to discuss execution issues. They always want to blame the officials.
It’s such a looser mentality. 😉

Congrats to Bama and UConn. Today, two more will join them. Has there ever been a 30-0 run before in the NCAA tournament? Hell, has there ever been a 30-0 run in College Basketball before? The Illini were in it and tied at 25 and next thing you know it is 55-25. Looked like the Georgia-TCU National Championship game in LA. Wow, the Huskies look unstoppable.

The good thing though, is it is basketball and a team can go cold just as quickly as it can get hot. Alabama played a good all around game to get there, I am hoping that Tennessee can as well. They have a very tough game this afternoon.

All I can say is I am on the bandwagon of NC State. Love the fact that both Duke and UNC are out, NC State is in. Yeah, baby!!! Been on it since the ACC Tourney, but lost my balls as they were my sleeper pick, as I got to hear a lot of chatter about them from the talk radio, local news, but bailed after I applied "thought" to it! Anyway, yep, I may be a "ball-less" wonder, but I am all aboard the NC State Express!! Now...get outta my way... Go Pack!!! (Oh! And, yes, the hell with my bracket!!)

Heard yesterday that NFL execs are saying he could be in line for a payday as an OT. Guess we shall see. Either way love his enthusiasm for the game and for life.

Paige Bueckers response to about how the moving screen affected their end of season is how everyone on this board who bemoans officials callls should approach the game. Essentially she said her play and the team’s play shouldn’t have let that final call affect the game. So fuck everyone here who complains about officials. 🙄😉😂

True, lots of mistakes were made. Still, that call had a direct impact on the game. No need to make excuses for poor officiating.

Either way, with this first game up, I won either way. If Purdue wins, my Bracket is still good. If NC State wins, I will be extremely happy with such a scenario!
