I was just thinking that I don't know that much about a great deal of the new posters on here now. Most of the old posters I do though.
I am currently in flight school for the Navy. Have been in the Navy coming up on 2 years. Also, served in the USMC for 8 years as an enlisted guy.
Before the military I was in grad school and worked in NYC on Wall St. It is the reason I came back in because I didn't want that life that they lived. Good decision on my part as I would probably have been fired due to the economy if I had stayed.

Zach, I was an officer and spent 21 years in Germany (6 tours). In my first 15 years I was in Armor and Armored Cavalry units and since a preponderence of Armor was in Germany facing the 8th Guards Tank Army, assignments in Germany were the norm. Later, I branch transferred to Ordnance and their was a great opportunity for Ordnance Officers in Germany too.
My tours in Germany were voluntary. Mom is from the Munich area and I have lots of relatives in Southern Germany. I deployed out of Germany (Stuttgart) to Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm and out of Germany (Heidelberg) for Operation Iraqi Freedom. My unit deployed on the former and I volunteered for the latter.

Work for a real estate investment bank, specializing in Sale Leaseback transactions. Fortunately are business wasn't killed by the economy due to the specialization of the work. Just a small hit.

Gotcha, it would be nice if the Navy had Europe options for me. Sadly, for me it is basically Lemoore or Virginia Beach. Small chance for Japan.

I run a moving and storage business.... so pretty much get paid to sit here and do this day in and day out, with the occasional glance at the television. The economy has not been peticularly kind, and the bonus checks have gone away for the most part.... but can't complain too much.
