In less than another 48 hours, Billy Gillispie could be out after just two years as Kentucky coach. And once his Cats lost 77-67 to host Notre Dame before a crowd of 7,636 -- nearly half of it dressed in Wildcat Blue -- Billy Gillispie seemed a man resigned to his fate. Press conference question: What's next for you? "Get better," said the coach. Question: Do you expect to be back? "I'm working," said the coach. "My expectation is to work hard every day. I loved the way they competed. We got beat, we missed a few assignments, those kinds of things, (but) I loved the way that they played."

It's been reported by most that he's out, and that there top 3 candidates are Billy Donovan, Tom Izzo and John Calipari.

I'm hearing Travis Ford, Billy Donovan, Calipari and Jason Wells. lol nice. However, didn't BD have a clause in his contract so that he couldn't leave UF for 5 years? Maybe it was just for the NBA, but I'm not sure.

Ford has done a good job in his one year at OSWho, and considering his pedigree, a natural choice.
sure would piss off a lot of cowboy fans, tho.....heh.....heh.....heh.....

I agree with Greek, I dont see Billy D taking on that mess...He has got it made at UF and would be a fool to leave them for UK.

I'd be shocked with Izzo, he's smart he knows that MSU is a better program then UK, and it would take a good 3-4 years to rebuild the mess there, and the crazy fans wouldn't give him the time. If BCG is fired like expected tommorrow, the team will be an absoloute mess, and I'm guessing they have a losing record. Funny all these UK fans preseason were saying they'd be a top 15 team, I remember I told one of them(Neil) that they'd be a borderline NCAA Team and he called me crazy. Worst fans that I've encountered by far.

Go to the CBS CBB Message Board there are litterally 10 threads about random coaches going to UK, some of them are a joke, but it's funny what a big deal this has become.

I could see Travis Ford going there, I don't think he's better then BCG though. Firing him I think would be a major mistake, and really push away any major coaches. They need to offer 5-6 million to Calipari for him just to consider it, he might actually get the #1, #2, and #3 recruits.

Izzo is not a serious candidate. I think they'll call Donovan first, if he says no they'll call Pitino next (yes Pitino), next up would be Calipari, then Ford. If Ford says no then they'll be up a serious creek. IMO this is great karma for what they did to Tubby Smith

Actually, Patterson may bolt to the NBA....he's good enough to stay in the league and develope. As far as Billy D goes....UK has to ask permission from Foley....and I think they'd get a big NO from Foley.....so much to do about nothing there. and Kaara.....excellent point about Karma

IMO this is great karma for what they did to Tubby Smith Or Adolph Rupp, but according to UK fans the guy was a class act. I've met someone who coached against him in a game with a team made up of most African American Players, according to him Rupp is as racist as they came, and an asshole in general.

You won't believe this, but according to some reports. The next coach is actually John Pelphrey...UK can't be that dumb right?

It is hard to pass up Kentucky.....but Billy G should never have left A&M...he could have been playing in BCG Arena instead of Rupp arena
