Any doubt that they pander up to the Northeast and West in their coverage of this guy?
They knew Staff was going to be the # 1 pick and I have yet to see much on him compared to the guy that allegedly assaulted a female a few years ago, played about a year, and is no doubt plastered all over Trouty's "Home Trojan Room".

don't worry, as soon as he throws a pick he'll get more attention than he wants from the ny media.

don't worry, as soon as he throws a pick he'll get more attention than he wants from the ny media. Right on spurrierpwnz. On FOX Sports Radio this morning they said they think he will have problems in NY with the media because he's laid back. In his interviews with teams he reportedly said he was a fan of his press clippings last year and they gave him the confidence to enter the draft. If he thinks for a moment that the NY Press will be as forgiving and nice as the West Coast Press he's in for a rude awakening.

The talking heads at ESPN have been wearing out knee pads for the last decade taking care of USC.

But honestly, if he's going to perform as badly as you've suggested, won't it feel that much better to photoshop come classic "FAIL" stuff after all this?

My apologizes to TrojanFan..I just figured it out. LA has no NFL team and they need Sanchez to draw that market. Following the money works 99% of the time.

Go ahead and book this now. Tebow will be drafted by the Miami Dolphins. Between the Wildcat and the Promotion...it's a lock.

Sanchez may be a star in the NFL, but ESPN is not making him my favorite based on their total ass-kissing parade.

while it has been a bit excessive, I'm pretty sure ESPN devoted at whole E:60 episode to Stafford, and paired him up with Maria Sharapova to boot.
all for a guy who's going TO a dying media market FROM a media market not even in the top 20 (if you include athens in the ATL media market--see below)
As opposed to a guy who is going from the #2 media market to the #1 media market...but yeah, you're right, it's not smart business by ESPN, it's just flat out bias against people who don't live around alot of other people
List of North American media markets ranked by size
1 New York City, New York (Mets & Yankees) 2 Los Angeles, California (Dodgers & Angels) 3 Chicago, Illinois (Cubs & White Sox) 4 San Francisco, California (Giants & A's) 5 Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (Phillies) 6 Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas (Rangers) 7 Washington, District of Columbia (Nationals) 8 Boston, Massachusetts (Red Sox) 9 Miami, Florida (Marlins) 10 Detroit, Michigan (Tigers) 11 Houston, Texas (Astros) 12 Phoenix, Arizona (D-Backs) 13 Seattle, Washington (Mariners) 14 Minneapolis, Minnesota (Twins) 15 Cleveland, Ohio (Indians) 16 Sacramento, California (Giants & A's) 17 San Diego, California (Padres) 18 Denver, Colorado (Rockies) 19 Tampa, Florida (Rays) 20 St. Louis, Missouri (Cardinals) 21 Atlanta, Georgia (Braves) 22 Baltimore, Maryland (Orioles) 23 Orlando, Florida 24 Indianapolis, Indiana 25 Portland, Oregon

oh and it's a great conspiracy between ESPN and the NFL to lick USCs balls, that's the only reason USC has had 10 guys drafted while the next highest team is at 7; not because USC has great talent and both ESPN and NFL recognize that. It's collusion, I tell ya.

Damn, Baton Rouge didn't make the list. #87th right behind Davenport, IA and just ahead of Tyler, TX but that's not during LSU home games...I'd guess they'd rise a bit on the list for 1/2 day or so at least. ;D

This Mark Sanchez hype parade by Espn is about as worse as the ass kising Espn gave Notre Dame after they beat Hawaii last year.

The Dolphins drafting Pat White makes sense to me. They can use Pat in that Wild Cat offense not only that Pat can be a threat at Reciever or Qb.
Good pick by Miami

They did the same thing to Leinart, literally having cameras on him all week up until the draft. This has not been repeated. Until, well, Mark Sanchez. Even went so far as to say that the other 10 teams that passed on Leinart would live to regret it...
And USC fans still will scream ECB any damn time it suits them. What can they say now that ESPN has moved its studios to Los Angeles?

The talking heads at ESPN have been wearing out knee pads for the last decade taking care of USC. And the overrated SEC since about 2005-present Before sec fans lash out at my comment, I admit in the latter part of this decade, the SEC has usually had 3-5 good teams, but the other 7-9 are nothing special and thus, the sec is overrated--it's not tough and full of great teams top to bottom as you SEC fans have convinced yourself..... Last year, the SEC had 1 dominant team (UF) and 2 or 3 OK teams (Bama, Ole Miss, UGA) and then the other 7 or 8 were garbage! The Big Ten had OSU & PSU that were very good and Iowa and MSU were decent/OK and the others were weak so the Big Ten was just as good as the SEC last year, like it or not, admit it or not... Your bottom tier teams like Kentucky, Vandy and Miss State suck just as bad (or worse) as Indiana, Minnesota & Northwestern

false. vandy beat boston college in a bowl. did any of those big 10 teams you mentioned get a bowl victory against a quality opponent?
and yeah i know my team lost to a big 10 team. i'm not gonna say the big 10 is "garbage." but nor is the sec. and the sec IS the strongest conference top to bottom.
