Wondering how many posters might be interested in engaging in some form of board book trading? I usually pick up a few novels each time I travel and they all end up sitting around collecting dust. Since the only time I read a novel twice is when I accidentally buy one I've already read, I wouldn't mind trading up with others. Let me know if any of you are interested and I can set up a category for it.

I'll read just about anything. I read War and Peace once and Crime and Punishment twice if you can beleive it. My favorites are novels that include bits of history. If we get enough of us interested I can put together a board library for us to browse through.
And no Elapid, coloring books do not count.

Stick, have you read "The Hot Zone?" A few books that I have read recently and enjoyed, "Genesis code" "the Demon in the Freezer" "The sixth Chromosome" "Jacobs Hammer"
Those are a few, and of course the coloring books ;D

I don't think I've read any of those Elapid but I'm not so great at remembering Titles. That's why I'm reading a book now that I've already read.

Had a lot more of the code breaking and mathematical fun that goes into it than the movie could ever touch on.

Anyone out there have any experience in the publishing field? I plan on having my novel finished by March and I don't have the faintest idea where to go after that. If anyone is interested it is a fictional story with various historical references. I know thats vague but I'm wary of saying too much right now.

Reno, you might want to speak to Bizboo45 over at CBS. He has a book deal in the works right now I believe.
Also, I'm looking for copies of "The Girls Of LOWRIDER Magazine", contemporary, anything 2000 forward.

WV, if you want to read DaVinci code, pick up Angels & Demons as well and read that first, its the prequel to DaVinci. While working late nights I have read a lot of books, spy, action and non-fiction. One of my favorite writers is Robert Wilson, he wrote A Small Death in Lisbon which is one twisted, fucked up story but awesome. When I was in High School I was hooked on Ludlum and Clancy. Another dude who knows how to write is Stephen Hunter, he wrote a book called The Day Before Midnight, great read, got me hooked and then I stumbled onto his Earl Swagger novels, Point of Impact became the lame movie version(good but nothing like or exciting as the book) Shooter with Marky Mark. Greg Iles wrote two amazing books (his first two) called Spandau Phoenix and Black Cross which got me into his books but Spandau is the shit, a fictional thriller about Rudolf Hess. Vince Flynn and his Mitch Rapp series are good as well as Ted Bell and the Alexander Hawke series. I could go on and on forever, if anyone has any questions let me know.

What Irish said about Anels & Demons - read it. It's been quite a while and I'm trying to remember when I started reading in the summer for pure enjoyment - reading for a book report doesn't count. Maybe the 7th grade - read hundreds of factual accounts about WWII - then I hit a dry spell - then heavy into SciFi - and then Fantasy - and then several years later I read my first Clancy novel - and now I read anything and everything by Clancy, Baldacci, Bachman/King, L. Bond, D. Brown, Cook, Coonts, Cornwell, Coyle, Crichton, Cussler, Demille, Follett, Griffin, Frey, Higgins, Grisham, Hoag, Kellerman, Koontz, Margolin, Martini, Meltzer, M. Palmer, S. Turrow, J. Saul, Sandfor and S. Woods. Still read LOTR every year (since 71) just to make sure nothing has changed and looking at the volume of material he had to work with - one of the best movies made and my hat is off to Jackson. What were we talking about

Nobody's getting my favorite book: Have A Nice Day (A Tale Of Blood And Sweatsocks) by Mick Foley. How 'bout that Mick Foley getting back in the Royal Rumble? As a library worker (don't call it librarian), I can tell you that anything that's written by Janet Evanovich doesn't stay here long. I haven't read her myself, but everyone seems to like her books.
