I have to say that I am shocked at the way that Carpenter has pitched tonight.
It is the bottom of 5 right now and he just threw his 99th pitch. He has given up 9 hits and 4 walks. That is not how Carp pitched all season. The Cards really need him to be dominant as well as Wainright.

None of the games today have been nail biters. Maybe this one will be, but it is past my bedtime.

The Yankees looked scary tonight.
They seem to have a formula that they had in 1996. They have three dominant arms in the bullpen to finish the game. No longer do they have trouble bridging the gap from the starter to Rivera. With Hughes, Joba, and Rivera the game is nearly over after 6 innings. That is damn scary with their offense.

I have a trust issue with picking them to win also, I think the game tonight between the Sox and Angels if incredibly important to the Angels... they cannot get behind in this series. I think the winner tonight goes on to win the series and maybe the AL.

30 runners LOB last night in the Cards-Dodgers game. That is a ton!
It will be interesting to see what happens in the opener of the Sox-Angels series. The Sox seem to be the Achilles heel of the Angels (in past playoffs). Lester is going tonight against Lackey.
Hamels goes for the Phils and needs to show that he is the old Hamels of the playoffs last year.

I do think the matchup for the Yankees was incredibly easy. The Twins had arrived about 14 hours before game-time. The Yankees did what they were supposed to do, but I have a feeling that the other games will not be quite so 'easy'.
How about A-Rod busting a slump? He had left his last 40 runners on base in the playoffs (dating back to 04). Those are some of the worst numbers I have ever heard...

Yanks looked good last nite. Sabbathia gave up some hits, but outside of one inning pitched around them pretty well. Offense was solid as well. Jeter was his normal October self and it was nice to finally see Arod get an RBI. Good start so far. The fellow Bostonites loves me at the bar last nite.

The fellow Bostonites loves me at the bar last nite. it's a weird atmosphere around here the past two years... people have become more and more apathetic... spoiled may be the reason behind it... but they don't even show up for a Yanks/Sox series. i do think however, if the Sox make it past the Angels, that will all disappear as I am already counting out the Twinkies. Too bad that you will be deported before that happens though... back to Florida

I wanted to stay longer, but the company is spending so much money keeping us up here. I know people are going to be going back and forth a lot until we have our site up and running correctly, so hopefully I can keep coming up for a while. It would be awesome to see the town when the Yankees are in. Must be a fun atmosphere.
