Yeah he has come up huge in the postseason for the Phils. Actually he has the most RBI in the postseason for any Philly (20 now). Can I also mention how happy I am to be posting about a postseason baseball game before 11:00 PM? ;D I love the fact that it's a day game and I had an early morning meeting and am settled in to watch the entire game while posting (and catching up on actual work emails) ;D

Beat you to that punch already. Don't be jealous that my alleged juiced player still has a chance to get a leg up on your alleged juiced player in WS rings.

Toph, Pedro looking pretty damn good right now. I was about to post that I may have underestimated this pitching matchup. I've seen some meltdowns from Padilla, but other than the one mistake to Howard he is really mixing it up well. Really good command of the fastball with solid velocity 96mph and movement. As for Pedro, he is really mixinig it up nicely. Mixing speed location. Not wasting many pitches by getting ahead of the counts. The Phils might get 7 out of him tonight and possibly 8 if he works quickly. As for a 1-0 game, I'm of course happy the Phils are up, but I'm really enoying the pitching. They aren't just throwing ball. Fun to watch.

Appears Pedro's day is done as Francisco is pinch hitting for him. 7 solid innings of 2 hit work for Pedro. Can't complain about that. He looked like his old self out there minus about 8 MPH on the high end of his fastball, but great movement and location.

Hell of an effort by Pedro today. If the bullpen can close the deal the Phils will come home up 2-0.

Not sure I would have pulled Pedro. Heart attack city now. I would have at least given him a shot at the 8th, especially the way the bullpen has been pitching, but none the less you gotta make plays in the field as well. v

Sorry if I played a role by jinxing. This 1/2 inning seems like its lasted two hours. Don't lose heart, remember their comeback at Colorado.

I must say I always have hope with the Phils lineup and that was a heckuva way to get out of the inning. The top of the order coming up. Let's go Phils!! Let's get some more late game heroics!!

Series tied at 1 a piece. A shame to waste such an effort by Pedro. But the Phils wrest home field advantage away.

Although, Padilla pitched a gem other than the one mistake to keep it close and give the Dodgers a chance to get to the Phils bullpen. Last night the Dodgers bullpen screwed the pooch and tonight it was the Phils. This is going to be one helluva series. Although, I do feel good going back 1-1 with Lee going in game 3.

Watching this Yankee-Angel game points out how stupid it is to be playing a game in this type of weather. MLB is really dumb.

Watching this Yankee-Angel game points out how stupid it is to be playing a game in this type of weather. MLB is really dumb. They really need to cut down the season and begin the playoffs just after labor day. I know that will never ever happen b/c of the finanical ramifications, but for the sake of how baseball should be played, that would make the most sense.

I was sitting here watching the game thinking that this should have been over 3 to 4 weeks ago. Baseball is a summer game.

Nah baseball is great in October. The atmosphere is much better The issue is the off days. Like yesterday was the 6th anniversary of the Yankees clinching the AL Pennant against the Red Sox with Boone's walkoff homer. So just 6 years ago we were about to start the World Series within a couple of days. Now...the ALCS has just started. Get rid of the fucking off days and get the playoffs done before November (that is when Game 7 of the W.S. is 'scheduled' for as of now).

I agree with everything you put there and for the networks to not do this is crazy. It's not like MLB would be replacing some fall ratings bonanzas on TBS or Fox.

I have a question about that inning for anyone with some baseball knowledge. The Angels had 1st and 2nd. Runners were moving with the pitch. Ball 4 hit the Yankees catcher's shin guard and bounced into the stands. The runner on 2nd ran passed 3rd and scored, but was sent back to 3rd because the ball was out of play. Now my question is, doesn't he get an extra base because the ball went into the stands?
