The Reds had an embarassing series against the Mariners, but they played much better in Oakland.
Cueto looked very good yesterday. They are going to have to keep pitching well for when the offense is not able to carry you.

A Reds win over the Tribe, and a Cards loss to the Royals puts the Reds back in first by .5 game.
Looks like it could shape up to be a good one in the NL Central, can the other teams get back in it?

Sorry for not really being present on the website guys.
All I can say is
Go Reds! Go Reds go Votto!
I couldn't ask for much better baseball from these young Reds!

Volquez was nasty tonight. Could be the best trade deadline acquisition of the season.
Reds still .5 games up on the Cards. Cards have a .5 game lead in the Wild Card.

The Reds with all of their talent are finally able to win some games and possibly take the NL Central. Congrats to Reds fans for having a great team through the month of July and it will be interesting to see if they can hold off the Cards to win the division...
...or with a very very very very low probability of even getting back in the race, the Cubs..

The Reds and the Cards continue to battle it out in the NL Central. Both are playing pretty good baseball but the Cards are leading the division by a half game.

I have been a Cubs fan my whole life.
That being said, I'm done watching them this year.

So with the Brewers being pretty much done for the season, I'd like to add what I hope they do in the offseason:
1. Fire Doug Melvin-He has no idea how to sign quality Free Agent pitchers at a good price. I don't want to give him another season to try to fix the starting pitching rotation with all the money coming off the books. 2. Trade Prince for pitching-Pretty obvious one here. The Brewers have one of the better lineups in baseball, their pitching if an effing joke though. 3. Call Lorenzo Cain up-Have him play CF, and let Gomez become a backup OF.
IMO, the Brewers are basically 2-3 decent SP's away from becoming arguably the best team in the Central.

Reds move to 14 games over .500 with a win over the Cubs today.

Cubs are a joke this year. I honestly thought the Cubs were going to have a good year. I was wrong I guess. Do you watch the Braves Dawggystyle? I just figured you probably do because you are a Georgia fan.

The Reds move to 20 games over .500. They are exactly 10 games over at home and 10 games over on the road (thanks in large part to 7 consecutive road wins).
A nice win Dodger Stadium (the Reds house of horrors) after losing the previous 12.
Coupled with a Cardinals loss the Reds move their lead in the NL Central to 4 1/2 games.
Reds still have 2 left against the LAD then go to SF so they need to continue to play well on the difficult swing out west.

Cardinals 100-62 Astros 81-81 Reds 80-82 Brewers 79-83 Cubs 77-85 Pirates 63-99 you must hate or have some sort of bias against the cubs, this prediction is idiotic Agreed. No way the Cubs can get to 77 wins this year.

Now this guy is a genius. ;D I second that! ;D I've saving this post for later! After a walk off win for the Reds, and the Cards get shut out to stretch the lead to 6 games. Wow. Bruce is now hitting and the Reds are playing pretty well. If they could get O Cab. and Phillips back they are going to be nastier.

The lead has swollen to 8 and it appears that the division race might be over in the NL Central.

Cubs fans have been saying that for generations. Honestly, I think the problem with the Cubs is a willingness to support a losing attitude and club. When you are known as the loveable losers you are going to have a tough time instilling a winning culture. I always thought that the Cubs had an advantage of playing and being used to so many home games while other teams play mostly night games, but it just hasn't shown that way yet. Teddy Roosevelt was the President the last time the Cubs won, and many Cubs fans don't seem concerned because they are drinking in the cheap seats and that is all that matters. Unfortunate for the other Cubs fans really.

Well, you Reds fans better at least hope that you finish with a better than the NL West. Otherwise, you'll just be going home in the first round!! ;D

Since you can't play a team within your division in the first round of the playoffs, it will likely be Padres/Reds and Phillies/Giants. Sort of interesting.

Right now the Reds are not playing well, and I am having trouble seeing a playoff matchup that would really work out for them.
I think they can turn it around because they were so hot in August it was inevitable that they had to cool off a bit. Better to hit that cold streak now than in the playoffs I suppose.
