Bayern's Ribery receives red card in 37th minute. Bayern down a man to Lyon. Lyon loses Toulalon in the 53d on second yellow card of the game. Arjen Robben scores for Bayern in the 69th minute. Bayern dominating play. Bayern wins round 1 1-0. Lyon must win by 2 goals in Lyon unless they win 1-0 and it goes to OT. Not scoring a road goal makes it very difficult for the visiting team. Next round is next week as play is accelerated due to World Cup this year. Go Bayern.

My GOODNESS, Mueller missed a completely open goal for Bayern at the 2min mark. That would have been a nail for the coffin. Damn!!!!

TOOOOOR. Goal for Olic` after great pass from Mueller. Bayern with big advantage if they do not blow it. Lyon must now score 3 goals and hold Bayern scoreless to advance based on Bayern's 1-0 win in Munich last week.

Bayern totally dominating this game. Several excellent goal chances missed, but the critical away goal by Olic` looks like it will be the difference.
Lyon Captain given yellow/red and sent off. Bad call in my mind, but unless something dramatically changes, Lyon has not been in this game.
Bayern 1-0 at the 63 minute mark

Olic` seals the deal in Minute 67. Bayern leads 2-0, 3-0 in aggregate and Lyon now needs to score 4 goals in the last 23 minutes while holding Munich without a goal. The German team has totally dominated this game and barring a complete collapse, they will meet the Inter-Barca winner in Madrid next month. The win is even more impressive since Ribbery was banned from this game.

Hat trick Olic`. Totally dominating performance by the Bavarian team. Schweinsteiger and Lahm have been brilliant as well as Lyon has never mounted a challenge.

Cris was injured, and he is the rock of that Lyon team. He never should have played really, but they probably figured they didn't stand a chance without him. I'm rooting for Bayern now, but they will be decided underdogs vs Barca or Inter.

Inter leads at the 90 minute mark on aggregate. Barca leads game 1-0 because of a goal in the 84th minute. Place is going crazy as I watch on German TV since not getting it on Fox here. Messe puts ball in the net at the 92 minute mark but goal disallowed. Inter PRAYING that the game ends soon.
Game over. Inter advances on aggregate 3-2 and will play Bayern next month in Bernabeau Stadium in Madrid. And yup, Bayern will be the decided underdog.

Bayern Munich have confirmed they will appeal against Franck Ribery's three-match ban, which is set to rule him out of next month's Champions League final.
Ribery's tackle on Lisandro has resulted in a three-match ban
UEFA handed out the punishment after Ribery was shown a straight red card for a tackle on Lyon's Lisandro Lopez during last week's 1-0 semi-final first-leg win at the Allainz Arena.
Ribery was suspended for Tuesday night's return leg - a 3-0 victory - and Bayern had hoped UEFA would restrict the Frenchman's ban to that one match. But European football's governing body enforced a three-match suspension which rules Ribery out the final in Madrid on May 22 and the opening game of next season's European campaign.
"UEFA informed us of the decision, arguing that Franck Ribery was guilty [of serious foul play]. We do not understand this decision in any way and consider it absolutely wrong," read a Bayern statement.
"Franck Ribery can certainly not be accused of violating his opponent intentionally. The player Lisandro Lopez was able to continue the game. Bayern and Franck Ribery will not accept the decision, but appeal and exhaust all possibilities."
Bayern will face either Inter Milan or Barcelona in next month's final at the Bernabeu.

Bayern won the Bundesliga on Saturday. Shortly they will play for the Cup Championship against Werder Bremen in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. Then, in 3 weeks they will play Inter in Madrid for the Champions League Title, which would be their 5th in history. Three titles in one year would quite successful.
Louis van Gaal has been very successful as a head coach. Bayern gave him his third different team to win National Championships (Ajax Amsterdam and Barcelona in addition to Bayern). He also won the Champions League with Ajax Amsterdam.
