There has obviously been a lot of discussion about Mark Richt and the stumbling Georgia Bulldogs this season. From the Bayou, there are rumblings about Les Miles despite the Tigers unbeaten record this year.
If you were a Georgia fan, would you want to swap with the Tigers? If you are from Red Stick, would you prefer Richt to your current coach? If you are from neither, who would you prefer if those were your two options.
Richt has a 2-1 record against the Hat. Both have won SEC titles since Miles came into the conference. LSU has won a National Championship and finished 2d while Georgia finished 2d in 07. But since 2007, both teams have suffered significant drop offs. And this year Georgia is approaching the Cliffs of Moher.
Richt is clearly on the hot seat and it doesn't take a genius to figure out why. But Les is unbeaten and has perhaps the best defense in the SEC. Yeah, he makes some odd play calls at times and you could say he has had his share of good fortune, but regardless, he wins. If his team beats the Gators in the Swamp this weekend, they will be a threat to Bama in Baton Rouge in a month.
So Dawg fans, would you trade? Tiger fans, how about you? Neutral fans, which would you prefer?

No I would not trade for Les Miles, he has his own disturbing qualities that drive you crazy as a fan.

Miles? You have to be kidding me.
Is everyone forgetting what happened in the Ole Miss game last year?
Only time I have been that pissed at Richt was in his first year when he handed off to Jasper Sanks on the goalline with no time outs and we lost to Auburn while the clock ran out.

Les is pure entertainment. And he can coach. He was .500 at OSU vs OU wasnt he? Dragged them out the sewer. But Les is working with 19 new starters. Running 9 deep on the DL. (while Richt cant run 1 deep) Great Defense, one of the most athletically talented teams in the nation. Has a national championship. And just when it doesnt look like he knows what hes doing. Thats when he kicks your ass. Who brings more fun to a game than Les? Richt is just flat out Boring. LSUs problem is Crowton, not Les. Richt might be a great/nice guy. But hes far to soft. I wouldnt let him coach a PeeWee team. Hed pack it full of little thugs, and half will be in juvy quarter through the season. (just a preemptive strike, cause I know Les is about to be hammered on this thread.)

Tough question........I think I'd take Richt. I think both are convenient punching bags (some brought on by themselves). Overall, I think there are plenty of places that would take either of their results as HC's.

Probably 117 other coaches would love to have accomplished what Leslie has accomplished in his career at LSU. Exceptions.... Meyer and Saban. Not that hard to make a statement like that.

It's not like Richt's numbers suck.... Never said they did, just said Richt would love to have what Leslie has accomplished since joining LSU. Somewhat true.....but not completely. Richt has won 1 SEC title since Les arrived on the scene. Les has won 1 as well. Georgia has been in the Top Ten in one or both polls three times. LSU has been in the Top Ten in one or both polls three times. Georgia is 4-1 in bowl games and LSU is 4-1 in bowl games. Both teams have played in 2 BCS bowls, with LSU winning both and Georgia going 1-1. The record is 56-15 vs 49-21 and for all practical purposes the difference is this year (5-0 vice 1-4).

It seems Miles can get more out of his players. Play at a high level. Richt is having trouble getting his players with just the fundamentals. I would take Les because I'd rather be 5-0 and working some things out than 1-4 trying to buy a win. Both coaches have recruited well the past few years also.

Miles in a walk. Just a gut feeling that even with Les' sometimes, um lets call it entertaining, play calls and clock management he gets more out of his talent and team than Richt. Can anybody say that Les ever had a team that was supposed to be the class of the league of talent and timing and didn't even win the conference?

Probably not, NVA. But when LSU won it all in 2007 I knew they would lose 2 games that year simply because Miles coached them. I have no idea what that means, really. I was right. I owed a dollar to myself and all that...but LSU won the championship.

I don't suspect the Jackets record against CMR enters into this equation, does it? I can imagine why residents of North Avenue would like to see him gone.

LSU had a bunch of "luck/help" that year - and I know some will say he won with Sabans players - I agree that he had some "luck/help" but he did coach the team. I'm too lazy to see what he's done since then. It really doesn't matter because he was the coach of a MNC team and Richt doesn't have that.
