First, congrats to LSU. But, I need to vent about a few things.
First, how does Melvin Gordon not get any more carries after his big run to start the 2nd half? Let's see, he's the offenses best player and he wasn't injured. Get the the ball!
If George Rushing is a future star at wide receiver have him out there for more than 3 plays and trust him to run more than just go routes.
I truly get the decision to start Tanner McEvoy over Joel Stave, and I even support not putting Stave in that game. But, what I don't support is the ridiculous play calling.
Everyone said Andy Ludwig would be frustrating as an OC and they're right. Keep going short early on and set up a double move or something.
Everyone knew that defensive tackle depth was going to be an issue with this team, and there was something they could have done about it. I don't think true freshman DT Jeremy Patterson made the trip, and no one could forsee both Konrad Zagzebski and Warren Herring getting injured but bring all the depth you can at a position that doesn't have a lot of depth.
Gary Andersen and Dave Aranda put together a quality defensive game plan.
And the facts are we were competitive against LSU with a non existent passing game. This can be a good season with a lot of work throughout the year.
Again, congrats LSU. Rant over.

I agree, if Wisky gets some kind of passing game, the Badgers can be a force for the rest of the season. If you hear a reason why Gordon did not play much after his big run in the 3rd quarter, let us know. Thanks for the congrats.

After the game Coach Andersen said he didn't know and then today he said he was told at half that Melvin had a hip flexer. If he was hurt why put him out there for that big run to start the half? If he was hurt why put him out there to be in pass pro at the game?

If he was hurt why put him out there to be in pass pro at the game? I have looked at the game again. Really after his long run - he had maybe 4 more carries in the second half. But really Wisconsin didn't get too many plays in he second half. They had a lot of three and outs. And LSU defended the run a lot better in the second half. They were moving the LB's closer and into the holes. And the Badgers could not complete any passes to stop the Tigers from playing that type of defense. If Wisky can improve their passing game, the running game gets that much better and make the Badgers a very good team, IMO.

Two completely different halves.

Two completely different halves. Agree with that. Oversimplifying it, but the fake punt was a big game changer. Losing Zagzebski and Herring were losses that couldn't be overcome. If Ludwig used Tanner McEvoy correctly maybe the game could have turned out differently. Use more options, get McEvoy on the edge..he's not a straight up drop back passer. Anthony Jennings is the kind of guy we need at qb, not really great but solid and makes the right plays. Good luck the rest of the year.

Same to you Wisky - the Badgers have a good team. Need to complete a some passes and they will be OK.
