Basically what happened was:
.....the president if the school wondered how this massive fuvk was both the "face of the school" and an "honor student".... He launched an investigation and now his acedemics are in question.
No honor student can be that giving stupid.
And a person accused of rape/scandal, theft, destruction of property, and now lewd behavior, can not be the face of your school.

Just so we are clear, the media has just set a precedent. Be careful what you wish for. How has the media set a precedent? I said it on the NFL thread and I will say it on here, it is really cliche to blame the media and really intellectually lazy as well. If these guys don't put themselves in the situations that they did in the first place there is no problem and nothing to report. Spare me the song and dance about if they were just regular Joes. Regular Joes also don't reap the benefits that these athletes do as well. In the political threads we love to talk about personal accountability, but when it comes to our sports, we like to go easy on the poor guys because the media is being too harsh and blows everything out of proportion. I know that I quoted you here, but this is meant as a reflection of the whole board. You can't have it both ways! Beat me to it. The media doesn't make athletes act like asshats, or knockout women, or beat their sons with sticks. They do it all on their own. But really Toph, don't you know that personal responsibility only applies to the other guy?

He needed to be brought down GMAFB. He needed to be brought down? What the hell is it with fans of NC teams from the south? It's never enough to win one, it also always has to be everybody hates us, everybody was out to get us, everybody doubted us, etc. See Gators, Florida; Tigers, Auburn; and now Seminoles, Florida State.

Personally, I think the whole suspension is suspect, unless FSU really punishes every student for being vulgar in public. I think the administration finally had enough of him embarrassing the university and got involved because they saw Jimbo was not going to do shit about it. It isnt about being vulgar in public...this was a snowball effect of being a dumb ass. He continued to do stupid things and felt untouchable. Football or not...this kid needs to learn you cannot simply act this way when you are the face of a business and let's face it...he is the face of the FSU athletic department currently and will at some point be the face of a NFL franchise. At some point he needs to realize there are consequences. I hate it because it is now a lose/lose for Clemson. Win and they beat an FSU team without Winston...lose and they lost to a back up. I think after the #askjameis twitter marketing fail FSU might have realized that they had a QB that was an embarrassment to the university

Wasn't an NC year. But one really doesn't know if someone is in an NC year until after the fact. You miss my point. Take Auburn. Both after they won it in 2011 and went to the NC last year there were several comments of the "you guys doubted us/nobody wanted us there which is why they investigated Cam/ we were picked to finish 6th and on and on" type. Just be freaking happy you won.

A timeline of Winston's incidents...that we know about.
November 25, 2012|BB Gun "Battle"
Winston and teammate/roommate Chris Casher were briefly detained by FSU police after an unidentified person reported two men carrying a "long barreled handgun" on campus, according to a police report obtained by USA TODAY Sports.
Later that week, Winston and Casher were investigated for $4,200 in damage at their apartment complex caused by a BB gun fight just hours after they were stopped on campus.
Winston and Casher told officers the next day that they had been involved in a series of "battles" involving other FSU players that had been going on for a month. They denied shooting any BB guns themselves but said someone threw eggs at their window and shot at them with a paintball launcher.
Police found BBs littering the ground and saw windows in several apartments with small holes.
Police records show the apartment manager, Dave Sudekum, initially wanted to evict Winston and three other tenants but decided to not press charges after an FSU athletic department official promised that the players would pay for the damage.
Sudekum initially told a reporter this week that a previous management company had been involved. When told his name was on the report, he then said he couldn't remember the incident.
July 2013|Burger King Soda Theft
A Burger King employee called police in July to complain that Winston was stealing soda. According to the police report, Winston came in to the restaurant with three men, but did not order any food. An employee, who recognized him, first saw him using ketchup cups to take soda.
He asked for a water cup after she told him to stop, but he said he would use it for soda and filled it repeatedly with soda over her objections, the report said.
The report says Winston was never interviewed about the incident because the restaurant declined to prosecute.
November 14, 2013|Sexual Assault Case
The Florida State Attorney’s Office announced they were opening an investigation into a sexual assault complaint involving Winston that was originally filed with the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) on December 7, 2012.
On December 5, 2013, state attorney Willie Meggs announced the completion of the investigation and that no charges would be filed against anyone in this case. Meggs stated that "As prosecutors, we only bring charges for cases where the evidence will result in a likely conviction at trial. In this case, the evidence does not show that."
Allegations of improper police conduct have been made by both parties, with the victim claiming to have been pressured into dropping her claim and Winston's attorney alleging inappropriate leaks to the media. Adhering to Florida State's policy that athletes charged with a felony cannot play until their case is resolved, Winston continued to play throughout the investigation because he was never charged.
On April 16, 2014, The New York Times reported irregularities in the rape investigation involving Winston. Though a medical examination of the victim revealed injuries consistent with sexual trauma – including bruises and semen – and the victim would later identify Winston by name as her attacker, Tallahassee police reportedly never obtained a DNA sample from Winston, never interviewed him, nor attempted to obtain video of the alleged assault taken by Seminoles teammate Chris Casher.
The investigation was conducted by Officer Scott Angulo, who, the Times' article notes, did private security work for the Seminole Boosters, the primary financier of Florida State athletics
April 29, 2014|Crab Legs Shoplifting
Reigning Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston was issued a civil citation after sheriff's deputies say he walked out of a supermarket without paying for $32 worth of crab legs and crawfish.
Leon County Sheriff's Office Maj. Michael Wood said Wednesday that the 20-year-old Winston ordered the food at the deli in a Tallahassee, Fla.-area Publix on Tuesday night. After receiving the order, he left the store without paying.
Wood said Publix employees called deputies, who went to Winston's apartment. Wood said Winston was "very cooperative" in a post-Miranda interview and acknowledged not paying for the food, saying he forgot.
After consulting with Publix managers, deputies issued Winston a civil citation that will require him to complete at least 20 hours of community service. If he does that, no criminal charges will be filed. He will also likely have to pay restitution.
"The facts are not in dispute," Wood said. "He left without paying."
Wood said Winston was cooperative.
"He indicated to the deputies he had forgotten and when he got home he realized that he had not paid, but in fact he had made no effort to contact Publix or return to pay prior to the deputies' arrival" three hours after Winston left the store, Wood said.
September 16, 2014|'F#%k Her Right In The P*$sy’
Winston reportedly stood up on a table in the Florida State student union and yelled "FUCK HER RIGHT IN THE PUSSY" at the top of his lungs.
On September 17, 2014 Winston was suspended for the first half of Florida State's upcoming game versus Clemson on September 20th.
• “As a result of his comments yesterday, which were offensive and vulgar, Jameis Winston will undergo internal discipline and will be withheld from competition for the first half of the Clemson game,” Florida State’s interim president, Garnett S. Stokes, and Athletic Director Stan Wilcox said in a joint statement. The university declined to comment further.

I think the way this has been handled is very interesting. Winston has a past with several incidents that could be seen as kid stuff but the fact that he doesn't seem to moving past it as he matured is not promising.
Have to think that this means either the FSU administration or football staff were finally pushed to take a stand.
Have to hope that Winston learns from this incident and won't make these juvenile mistakes again.

Heres a timeline:
"Go to school, hang out at a couple of parties, be a college kid, go to practice, win games, go to class....... repeat for 3 years and go pro.."
Instead of "BB gun battle, get accused of rape, shoplift, steal soda, stand up in the student center and scream "fuck her in her pussy" after all the above stuff trying to be funny".......
maybe then no one would hate the kid so much and FSU could have a player and trophy to be proud of.

No. It warrants public flogging, in fact. Hope they expel him and he Maurice Claretts. I've met Maurice Clarett. Very nice guy oddly enough. Learned his lesson and then some.

He has to know that he is being watched at all times. This tattletale website is just one example. Kid needs to learn to think before acting.

Rumors all over the interwebs sayin' he has played his last game at FSU. Sounds like he lied to the school president somewhere in all of this.
