Some have suggested that Florida State star quarterback Jameis Winston might drop out of school as a way to avoid the institution's investigation into prior sexual assault charges brought against him, as well as an inquiry into whether he violated NCAA rules for being compensated for autographs, but several sources close to him said that is in no way a consideration.
Winston intends to fight vigilantly to maintain his innocence in both instances, however, given the current state of his relationship with the upper reaches of FSU, it has become a certainty he will declare for the NFL Draft. Winston led the Seminoles to a wild win vs. Notre Dame Saturday night to preserve their national title hopes.
These same sources said a few weeks back that Winston was torn as to his future, pointing to how much he loved playing football and baseball in college, and at that time they suggested that only if the team was still undefeated deep into the season and Winston having a superb season would he leave. Now, however, in the face of the multiple investigations into him, and what has become an adversarial relationship with school officials (excluding coach Jimbo Fisher and key members of the athletic department) it is virtually certain Winston is declaring no matter what happens in the second half of the season.
Fisher has faced pressure from above to further suspend Winston (he missed a game earlier this season after shouting an obscenity on campus), but has steadfastly resisted, sources said, with Winston adamant he did not accept money in exchange for autographs. No charges were pressed regarding the allegations made against him by a fellow student and Winston has denied any wrongdoing regarding that as well.
“There is no upside in waiting to go the NFL now, after all of this,” one source said.
Despite all that's swirling around him, Winston could still well end up being a top 10 pick.

I think he should give FSU the middle finger, go to a local hotel and sign all kinds of memorabilia, get a 100K payday and start training for the combine. Maybe even play some baseball in the spring. What's the benefit to him to stay?

Why should he give the finger to FSU? They have certainly bent over backwards for him. I am not judging him on any of these accusations, but considering what he has done he should do anything but give them the finger? He actually ought to be thanking them for having his back/ass.

Jimbo and the athletic dept may have bent over backwards for him, but FSU, not so much. I think he is an immature clown, but him staying at FSU and playing football and/or baseball doesn't provide him any benefit going forward. In fact, it may be very detrimental to his future to stay and play.

What has FSU done not to support him? He got called out like any other student would be considering the allegations. I fail to see where FSU has done anything but bend over backwards to support the guy. Did they yield to pressure and suspend him for the entire game against Clemson? Yeah, but based on his other actions, that was hardly a disproportionate punishment. There has been no move to suspend him for the autograph deals and in fact it doesn't appear they are even investigating. They have taken him at his word that he received no money. Sorry, but he ought to be thanking everyone on that campus for the shake he has gotten.

I'd say "no comment"............ But you fucking know better! He is gone. The appeals process will go long after this season even IF he us found guilty. FSU is using up all their hard earned investment. Stickimg register fingers in their ears screaming "LALALALALALA!!!" Until the season is over. This will go down/is going down as the most pathetic, sick, era in FSU football. With a tarnished bought and paid for NC, and thus far an even worse 2014 season.
