LSU hasn't announced their opt outs yet. I am sure there will be some.

OK, this is not an opt out, but rather a transfer portal guy. But this is before the first playoff game against Michigan. I am sure I am wrong, but does anyone recall a player opting out of a playoff game before? Maybe he is going to stick with the team through the playoffs. I knew this day would come, but not sure I can recall a previous case. I also realize that he was not particularly productive this season:
It's not all sunshine and rainbows for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide ahead of their College Football Playoff semifinal matchup vs. the Michigan Wolverines.
The SEC juggernaut has lost a productive, former five-star wide receiver recruit to the transfer portal. Ja'Corey Brooks is leaving the program.
Brooks was the No. 2-rated wide receiver in the 2021 cycle. He had a very productive season in 2022, hauling in 39 passes for 674 yards and eight touchdowns. The biggest game of his career, though, came in the 2021 Iron Bowl when he caught a game-tying touchdown pass from Bryce Young to send the game in overtime.
Brooks has talent, but didn't see the field much this past season. He will be a highly sought-after transfer prospect this offseason. The Miami native may seek a program closer to home to play for next.

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner, is headed to the NFL draft and will skip the Tigers' upcoming bowl game.
Thank you Daniels for the outstanding season you had this year. Best of luck in the NFL.

Nussmier still have elgibility? I always thought he was a good QB. Lit us up in the SEC title game last year.

Nussmier still have elgibility? I always thought he was a good QB. Lit us up in the SEC title game last year. Yes - He is listed as a redshirt sophomore. So that means he has two years left. He is a gunslinger and can throw the ball all over the field. He doesn't scramble very good. But he is a pretty good drop back QB. He will do all right in the bowl game. And Nabers wants to play and if Thomas plays - two very good WR's. And Nussmier will get all the snaps - so he should be ready. Great experience for next year. LSU is looking for a QB in the portal. Could be for a backup. Get one that is too good and Nuss would probably hit the portal.

With Nuss, LSU was not going to get a home run type QB in the portal as those guys want to start immediately and thats not the case at LSU. He was brought in as a backup with experience and to push Nuss. Experience behind Nuss was zero so finding someone like Swan was a must.

Looks like Nuss will have both Nabers and Thomas for the bowl game. Nuss will lite it up, IMO. He has a gunslinger mentality so the ball will be flying all over the place. Wisconsin has a very good defense - so this should be a good test for Nuss going into next year. And maybe the Tiger defense will improve over the next couple of weeks.

Brock Bowers is still mulling over what to do. I can't imagine him not going into the NFL draft. He has indicated he wanted to play in the Orange Bowl, but I suspect agents are advising him otherwise.
