From Last Night's Post on the Georgia Blogsite, Get The Picture:
It is with great sadness that we inform you the Senator passed away yesterday. His love for the Georgia Bulldogs ran deep, and it was his honor and privilege to share that passion with you. He was deeply touched by the widespread sense of community that you helped create over these past 17 years.
The Senator and his unique perspective will be missed. Thank you for your support, and Go Dawgs!

GTP was the only Georgia blog I read. In general, I am not crazy about team fan sites as there is little real discussion about issue and only really craziness with not a hint of objectivity.
Senator Blutarsky (Only know his first name was Michael) was a lawyer who started a UGA Blog around 2005. It became sort of a ritual that the first thing I checked every morning was his latest on UGA football and college football in general. He was witty. He was controversial at times. He and Andy Staples had a long standing relationship that was highlighted by Andy's remark that no one in Montana would know that the red helmet and power G stood for Georgia. One of the Senator's bloggers lived in Montana then proceeded to tour the state with a Dawg helmet asking people if they knew what it was...and the majority did. Andy cried uncle, but frequently referred to the deal. He sent his condolences today. The Senator had cancer come back and had had a couple of breaks in the past year. His last post, fittingly enough was directed at the greed in the UGA AD and NIL "system" in place. That was on January 23d. His blog followers kept hoping for a return. Last night a family member posted that he had passed yesterday. It was my first read in the morning before coming to check out this place.

Read about this last night. A sad day for Georgia fans and those who knew the man as "Senator Blutarsky"! RIP, Senator!
And, as far as Livingston, MT and the Bozeman area, many got to see me with my spirit for the Georgia Bulldogs when representing and being "loud and proud" as I could be, as I wore the G often during the season, and cheered my beloved dogs on when they were not preempted by the Idaho Vandals against Weber State, or whatever game CBS decided to show in that 1:30 MT time slot.
And, BD...the Georgia page on Rivals is far from an overly biased presentation of Georgia Bulldog stories. Far from homer, and offer lots of insight into the program through their articles. The Vent can kinda be a free for all sometimes, but overall, you can certainly glean "reality" when taken as a whole. Lots of correct and useful information comes from these pages, though sometimes I have run with a storyline that proves out differently. That is on me, and because I listened to a poster, not one of the writers.
Nonetheless...
GATA, Senator! You are a DGD!!

My faux pas. It was Stewart Mandel on the Montana project, not Andy Staples. Sounds like they became pretty decent friends after that as Mandel conceded that maybe the helmet was more recognized than he thought. They had another deal when Mandel came up with this kings and barons and that sort of thing that talked about where certain schools belonged in the hierarchy of college football. It was all in good fun. It think it was Reggie Ball and his contribution to Georgia football lore that inspired the Senator to start his blog.
