While around 11,000 college football players are eligible to get $600 plus a free copy of College Football 25 in a deal with EA Sports for lending their likeness to the game, players from a few noteworthy institutions are not allowed to accept such an offer.
According to Matt Brown of Extra Points, players for Air Force, Army and Navy are not allowed to accept the offer because service academies are prohibited from accepting any NIL deals at all.
However, Brown noted that EA Sports intends to include players from the three service academies in the game regardless and will work to find some other way of offering compensation to the players whose likenesses are used in a way that is "legally compliant."
"An EA Sports spokesperson told me that the company expects to also include athletes at Army, Navy and Air Force, even though those athletes cannot be compensated for use of their NIL," Brown wrote.
There was initially some contention over the issue of player likeness being in College Football 25. EA Sports initially offered $500 to players, but representatives stated that such a number was too low.
But now that EA Sports has upped the offer by about 20-percent, players appear to be much more on board with the offer.
There has not been a College Football game released since NCAA 14 over a decade ago. After years of legal hand-wringing there will finally be another video game with actual college football licenses available.
The game is slated for release later this year.

What more could you ask for? but could something not be set up for AFTER they graduate? could the $600 per year not go to a fund that is only accessible after graduation? There could be a way but the government (regardless of Party) is not easy to change. When I was on active duty and had to travel a lot for TDY (Temporary Duty), we could not collect frequent flyer points. Initially you simply didn't get them. Then they said you could get them but had to give them to the government (ie, DOD). Eventually they came up with some goofy plan that let you keep part of them, if part of your trip was liesure and we actually had two different frequent flyer cards. You can imagine the headaches trying to manage that zoo. Since I have now been out almost 20 years, that probably has been changed. CFF probably would know how they do it these days. You would think that they could come up with something for the Cadets and Mids, but doubt it is high on the priority list for DOD.

Wins didn't come easy against Bama under Saban and Bear, at least for LSU.

Oh of course. Something has to be done to offset the great TTU conspiracy disadvantage.

Oh of course. Something has to be done to offset the great TTU conspiracy disadvantage. I actually thought that was pretty good. Sure, it comes from a place of delusion, bit still pretty solid.
