Blogs: Jones to start for Irish Posted: Thursday August 30, 2007 08:38AM ET Nothing on Wednesday changed Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis' code of silence when it comes to naming his starting quarterback. But for what it's worth, two Internet blogs -- one of which was AOL Sports -- published what they say is a reproduction of comments on Demetrius Jones' facebook.com page that congratulate him on earning the starting gig for Saturday's opener against Georgia Tech.

He better get his running shoes ready because Wheeler is coming.

Honestly for facing the GT defense I think Jones makes the most sense for the Domers. With him at the helm I think it will be a better game. Like I said on a previous post, I could of seen 6 or 7 sacks by Tech's D against their inexperienced O-Line, but with Jones I don't see Tech getting more than 2-4.

He's gonna toss 3 picks though. They just don't have any experience at all on either side of the ball.

I predict 6 or 7 sacks and they get 7! Anybody else think the whole not announcing the starter seriously backfired on Weiss? Because he didn't announce, GT prepared for all three. When he brought in a new QB it didn't give them any real lift, since Tech's D had prepared for all 3.

They got nine...but pretty good. I saw you say that earlier. At the end of the game they said 7, all on the 2nd QB.

Forced fumbles count as sacks.
