The votes are not for the best record, they are for who the voter thinks are the top 25 teams. EXACTLY!!! I kind of get tired of the assumption that record indicates the better team. 1-0 or 0-1 means absolutely nothing comparitively of 1-0 is only the result of a blowout against Sister Mary's School for Blind Maidens, while 0-1 is showing a loss to a top 10 team. I think probably a third to half the top 25 could have taken a loss against Cal, but that doesn't mean they'd be worse than all Div-IA teams that didn't lose in the opening weekend without considering who they played and if there was even remotely a chance that they could have taken a loss. Right now, Louisville's 1-0 record means absolutely micro-dickey in terms of records. Louisville could have fielded an 8-man team and still won that game. Michigan would've liked a win against Sister Mary's School for Blind Maidens I think.

Michigan dropped a lot. Wow. Saying it should happen is one thing, seeing it happen is another.
