Redshirt freshman quarterback Steven Ensminger has left the Auburn football program. He enrolled Tuesday at Louisiana Tech, according to Auburn Tommy Tuberville.
Tuberville said Ensminger, the son of Auburn tight ends coach Steve Ensminger, felt he could play sooner at Louisiana Tech.
"I tried to talk him out of it and his parents tried to talk him out of it," Tuberville said.
Ensminger has been working with Auburn's scout team, behind starter Brandon Cox, junior Blake Field and freshman Kodi Burns on the depth chart.
I guess sitting behind Cox, Fields, Burns, and Caudle he didn't like the view....[

Dude, what is up with Brandon Cox? I really expected him to be better this year...bad offensive line? What the hell happened to him after that incredible sophomore year?

Come on PJ - it's Audurn - he could be #1 in less than a week - if the fields burns the cox will drop - and Cox needs to rise to the occasion better than he did last week -

AUBURN -- Senior quarterback Brandon Cox said a blow to the head may have clouded his judgment and affected his decision-making in Auburn's 23-13 win over Kansas State on Saturday night.
Auburn's offense struggled for most of the night, and the normally reliable Cox perplexed coaches by missing several reads and checks.
"I was a little fuzzy," Cox said. "I was pretty banged up. I was out of it much of the game. I got my bell rung pretty good. Going back and watching the film, there were definitely some checks that I could have made that would have helped myself out."
Cox said his lack of "focus" made it difficult for him to read blitzes that he should have seen coming.
"There were some blitzes they brought that we had gone over in practice that didn't register at the time," he said.
Cox said he showed no symptoms of a concussion and does not believe he suffered one during the game. While he could not pinpoint which hit caused his mental fuzziness, Cox said he remembers the entire game with no gaps.
Borges and head coach Tommy Tuberville were concerned about Cox's decision-making.
"He got hit a few times. Who knows?" Borges said.
"I talked to him today and he's fine. But there were a few things that were a little un-Cox-like."
Even so, Cox finished the game by helping to engineer a winning touchdown drive in the fourth quarter.

AUBURN -- A day after another down-to-the-wire victory, Tommy Tuberville admitted he was frustrated by his team's lack of offensive production.
"Yeah, it worries you when you don't score many points," Tuberville said. "We had to kick too many field goals. It was déja vu from last year."
Tuberville said quarterback Brandon Cox didn't play well Saturday, but neither did Auburn's receivers or the offensive line.

Joe, the coaches should be able to pick up on this by now....for crying out loud, it happens at least once a game sometimes more.

In 2005 Cox had Marcus McNeil blocking for him....Last year Marcus was blocking for LT and Phillip Rivers on his way to the Pro Bowl...

I always thought he would turn out to be better than Jason Campbell, but I am starting to wonder now. Campbell really only had one spectacular season and I thought Cox would trump all of his numbers easily. Very strange...good luck this weekend though!

He should cheer up. If he were at UL...he'd never take a snap.

Who would want to Caudle Cox until it Burns Fields?

Hmm. Who knows about the 'fuzziness'? Hopefully Cox has 13 more games to right the ship.
In an semi-unrelated note, I was at kickboxing last night and got smacked right upside the bean. Definitely didn't concuss me but 10 minutes later I couldn't remember a simple taekwondo form that I've known for at least a year and a half for a few minutes. Cox took more than a few smacks to the bean.
